Turdeau Jr. So what if he's 40? Harry Connick Jr. is 46, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is 39 and probably won't drop the "Jr." when he reaches 40, Robert Downey Jr. is 48, etc. :)

And those people have to do with Justin Trudeau how?

That was a Nanos poll. I also posted a blurb explaining the poll methodology. If you can't read I can't help.

Rather testy today.
If you could not see the humor of what happened in elections in days gone by I will not waste my time explaining it.

What "state" do you think we are in? Compared with whom? I would say we are in better shape than most.
Depends upon which aspect we're thinking of. Economically, we survived the recession better than most countries but we're still adding more to our nat'l debt faster than most, Canucks are still living quite a bit beyond our means even if we are starting to turn that tide around, etc.
We've slipped from 5th to 39th (or something like that) as far as healthcare goes, we've managed to stay steady in education, etc.

Apparently of the G7 countries we are the only one that is not in dire financial shape! That must say something.

"Apparently"? Is it true? Does it matter to you if it's true or not, or is it good enough that it is "apparently" true?

My own point ov view--for which I have a lot of supporting data--is that the stripe of government in at the time doesn't have all that much to do with global economic indictaors. The tides of the global economic forces are orders of magnitude higher than anything Canada--or even the US--could hope to influence. The prediction of economic forecasters has an absolutely abysmal success rate, so it's not like we even see what's coming. Random chance has far more influence than it is given credit for. Mathematically this is simple to demonstrate, but in reality, politicians want to take credit for rosy economic indicators.

Born in the same era and have a recognized father.

I wouldn't recognize Harry Connick Jr's father. I have a feeling you've dug yourself into a hole and are detemrined to dig your way out of it. :lol:

JLM called Turdeau, "Junior". You commented on it and said he's 40, implying that he shouldn't be called Junior because of his age. I simply pointed to other people that are called "Jr." at older ages. Try to keep up, huh?

From my perspective (being 30 years older) he's still a young brat, wet behind the ears and besides "Junior" differentiates him from his old man.

Not worthy of a comment.......:roll:

Do you want to see a forum that is dead serious all the time or can you tolerate a little banter? -:) Most people need a little break from the depression on the news.

Oooooooooooooopos I should have said "apparently" -:) Mea culpa.

What "differentiates" Justin Trudeau from his dad, is that his dad is dead.

On the other point, I also like to see a respectable debate as well as banter.

Well we can agree that he has great respect for dictators- Like Castro/ Following in dada's footsteps.

Oh yes, he dislikes the term "barbaric" for describing honor killings.

How would you describe them?

Honour killings term angers Trudeau | Canada | News | Toronto Sun

OTTAWA - Liberal MP Justin Trudeau said the government should not call honour killings "barbaric" in a study guide for would-be Canadian citizens.

On Monday, the federal government updated its Discover Canada guide, a pamphlet given to new immigrants to help explain life in Canada and prepare them for the citizenship test.

Among other things, it tells new Canadians that gay marriage is OK and forced marriages are not.

But the guide also says: "Canada's openness and generosity do not extend to barbaric cultural practices that tolerate spousal abuse, 'honour killings,' female genital mutilation, forced marriage or other gender-based violence."

"Those guilty of these crimes are severely punished under Canada's criminal laws," it reads.

Trudeau blasted the Conservatives for using the term "barbaric," even though it's been in the guide since 2009. Forced marriages are the only new item on the list.

"There's nothing that the word 'barbaric' achieves that the words 'absolutely unacceptable' would not have achieved," Trudeau, the Liberal immigration critic, said.

Just In has hair. :D
Jeeez. I googled "Justin Trudeau platform" and the 1st reply got me the Gliberal page begging for donations. What'm I sposed to think about that - we should expect higher taxes if he gets the PM's chair?
Oh, here's something (different reply from Google) - "Justin Trudeau, Liberal candidate in the riding of Papineau, suggests citizens have a look at the Liberal platform unveiled on Sunday: 'We put forward a platform that reflects the values and priorities of Quebecers, a platform that focuses on families, learning and health. It’s the complete opposite of the Conservative agenda, which would divert tens of billions of dollars that belong to families towards fighter jets, prisons and large corporations,' said Justin Trudeau." ?? Just Quebecers? What about Canada?
Here's more:
"1. The Canadian Learning Passport – which will help families pay for college and university to the tune of $ 4,000-6,000 for every student, non-taxable;

2. The Early Childhood Learning and Care Fund – which will create more daycare spaces and reduce waiting lists, without infringing on the jurisdictions of Quebec;

3. The Family Care Plan – which will allow family caregivers to take time off work for up to six months to care for a loved one and help them defray related expenses up to $1350 per year;

4. A strengthened public pensions system – which will improve the Canada Pension Plan, encourage retirement savings and increase support for seniors living in poverty by $650 per year;

5. A permanent and refundable Green Renovation Tax Credit – which will allow families to help the environment while saving on heating costs, and claim up to $13,500 for home renovations."

Sounds like kids will fare well. $650 a year for seniors? Monthly that's about $55. Daily that's about $1.33. Oh, good. Then they could afford some carrots n peas to go with the canned dog stew, tuna, and rice.
