It is pretty dumb that they would prevent scientists from communicating their findings to the people who are paying for the work to be done in the first place. This stuff isn't being paid for by Harper or the conservative party, so there is no reason that they should be allowed to control it for partisan political gain.

I suppose that using that logic, I should be able to access your CRA records without issue (CRA are gvt employees afterall)... Hell, I might even demand to have your medical records made public as they are public tax dollars that have maintained your health for this time

Obviously there are cases where privacy concerns prevent wide public disclosure of information. National security issues would be another example.

But the things you mention are still much more accessible than the work of these scientists working on environmental issues. I have a right to access medical and tax information that pertains to me. I apparently don't have a right to hear about the research that these scientists have done even if it pertains to the environment that I live in and their are no national security or personal privacy issues.

RADICAL LEADERS PREY ON THE FEARFUL AND NAIVE

{Let me be second ...}

That's why Obama resorted to the campaign of pretending there were WMD in Iraq with 45 minute attack capability and impending doom. ;)

What you've posted is true in Canada, but not in America.
America was born and built on the dead bodies of Native Americans. It was a violent and bloody beginning and continued for centuries. Live by the sword, die by the sword. America is reaping what it has sown. It is tearing itself apart from within. It is natural law.

Arnold Toynbee said all great societies start to die from the inside long before external forces apply the coup de grace. America is dying internally, and the process is irreversible.

Did anyone think the stone age meeting the iron age was going to be easy? It could have been worse.

How is America tearing itself apart? Things look pretty calm down here.

Not saying it's a bed of roses, mind. But it ain't exactly South Sudan.
