Neither, IMO. I do not believe gods exist let alone indicate their preferences nor do I believe men saying that gods exist and that gods are speaking through them.
Religions to me are just the bureaucracies between humans and their gods and detract from honest spirituality.
Yup. How come the afterlife never includes great food and sex? They are two of humans greatest and most natural pleasures. I think I'll start a religion based on that. I think god loves sex and that is why it gave us the gift of sex. Waddaya think? For a mere 10% of your weekly wage, I can guaranty all the best sex and gourmet food you can handle after death.
For the religion or the after life? For the after life, BC for sure. I spent a year in Edmonton during a two week winter period about 25 years ago. And if you are talking about the location of the religion, think BIG. - world wide. The center would be out of my 24' travel trailer - Vatican mini.
The apostle Paul thought as much prior to his encounter with The Holy Spirit.

Ask Him. At this moment God is seeking YOU out. He has set it to send his Word through these forums. He goes a long way to save people. Know that you are being actively sought by God. Ask Him. Go wild. Suspend your beliefs for a week or even just a day. Ask Him.

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
God will continue to send workers into the field. This is an ongoing active process. Many here on the forum have witnessed as such. The Holy Spirit wants you.

No. It's likely the ingestion of hallucinagenic elements. It is easy and potentially fun to make wisecracks, but what if what I & others have said is true. What if there is a Holy Spirit that KNOWS the truth. What if after being visited by the Holy Spirit you come to believe differently? If there is a chance what we witness to is true, would it not be prudent to ask the Holy Spirit?
Maybe something like this: "Holy Spirit, this nutcase on the forum keeps talking about you, if you are really real, if you exist can you please let me know?"
As tempting as that sounds at the moment, I can see myself getting bored with even those eventually. An eternity of anything scares the hell outta me and people who wish for such a thing are either extremely short-sighted, deluded, ignorant of such things, or all of the above.
So it is said. Astounding things can happen when one is using a psychotropic substance including audible hallucinations.
I have a problem with books that are their own source of info and evidence.
Ya know, my dad was a catholic. My mom became a born againer after the last of the kids left the house. My dad started going to service with her. On his death bed, he had both a priest and a minister give him the last rights. Bugger was hedging his bets. Funny, because he always warned me about the evils of gambling.

Just who is gawd? Jesus? The Holy Spirit? Yaweh? What about the lesser deities? Michael, the Seraphim, Asherah?
No. He was lonely going to church without the kids in tow, so he decided to hang out with my mom. Her faith was strong until the alsheimers took it away.

I could give you an answer, but The Holy Spirit will sink the answer into your heart and mind. Why listen to be blab when you can go to HIm? Ask Him, he is waiting to hear from you. Really ask him the very thing you asked me.
