I wonder why this veteran didn't get the headline...

Leonard Pelletier, 90, spent the Second World War in England and later served as a peacekeeper in Egypt, France and Belgium.
In the military, he said, "you never discuss politics or religion."
"I don't get involved with politics," Pelletier said. "I don't think about it. He has his thing to do and we all have our own thing to do."

Oh ya, decorum isn't fashionable, and nor does it sell rags or air time.

Oddly enough, I haven't found anyone that thinks the media's fixation on Ford at the services was at all appropriate.

BTW Flossy, I haven't seen all your angst and energy in the London mayor thread, what gives, you caped crusader you?

The Vets behavior was inappropriate - a disservice to those that passed.
Same as those that decided to turn their backs when a Conservative MP laid a wreath- Inappropriate. It was to make a statement that Harper turned his back on Vets.
Well get organized and start a public campaign in the spring and run it till the next election. Pick the ridings that matter in a Fed election.

the soldiers risked their lives and sacrificed their lives so that people like him could have the freedom to be racist, drunk and high. ;)

Who among us people on the pavement haven't while watching a crime drama silently cheered the felon on, and wistfully watched as he was inevitably brought to justice, especially if he possessed some character trait with which we identified or stuggled againtst arbitrary power or privilege? The disposessed in the 1930s had their folk heros among the Bonnie and Clydes.

This human tendedency is exploited not only by novelist and screenwriter, but by the power brokers who wish to mould public support for their cause, even if that cause runs counter to the interests of the people whose support is sought. Anyone get a signed bobblehead?

I find it funny that you post this here, whilst all you could do in a thread about a left leaning mayor who's committed fraud in office, abused his position of power, was ask Goobs if he was a Ford supporter.

Remember, keep hydrated and pick up your own used sock.
