If crime stats supported Arpaio's approach to policing, one may be able to reasonably justify their support of him. As it stands, the only way anybody can support him is if they are ignorant of the facts or just enjoy humiliating others.

I'm in a bit of a quandary over this guy..................for about 2 decades he was touted as the best thing in law enforcement since Wyatt Earp and then suddenly He's sh*t. More people should probably take notice and get the hell out after their "shelf life" has expired or at least before dementia sets in.

They are like anyone else, Petros, mostly human and trying to do a good job, but unfortunately a few A$$holes ruin it for the rest. With some the authority just goes to their heads. Until they are 40 they should be given a flash light, a billy stick and a good stout pair of boots and if they can show responsibility with that give them a bicycle.

His methods work. He makes jail a place people don't want to go to and targets gangs and illegal immigrants. Just because a few bleeding hearts think jail should be a touchy/feely country club and that it is wrong to target latinos when 95% of the illegals are latino doesn't mean they're right.

I hear you, Nick, and furthermore what do the law suits actually prove, a bleeding heart mentality in the community or a bunch of unscrupulous lawyers? There is a lot of unacceptable sh*t that is becoming acceptable!

The Republican courts certainly haven't defended Arpaio so that proves the p1ssbag should have been removed from office a LONG time ago. But if Arizonans still want to vote him into office and bankrupt the state, then so be it.

Oh, I didn't realize sensible people put much stock in what Republicans said/thought, also I'm wondering if it's Arpaio who is bankrupting the state or if it's some incompetent judges/lawyers! I'm not in a huge hurry to "throw the man under the bus". People praised him for decades, now what's changed?

From what I've seen up until the past year, pretty well everyone. We know that all court decisions aren't necessarily correct............just ask Nicole Brown's family!

Arpaio has been losing these cases since at least 1999 when there was a case for wrongful death of a college student and the kid's family was awarded a large sum of money. True, he has won reelection by a large majority over the years. But the fools who reelected him have paid a huge price and will pay even more now that Arpaio lost his appeal.
