Two Montreal cops had sex with women together in police cruiser: Witness
QMI Agency

MONTREAL — Montreal police are investigating after a bystander said she saw two officers having sex with two women in a cop cruiser.
Police say they'll discipline at least one officer after a photograph showed a constable with a half-naked woman inside the marked car.
The photo, which was making the rounds on the Internet this week, shows a man in uniform sitting in the driver's seat with a topless blonde woman on his lap.
Leila Saad, who took the photo, told QMI Agency that there were, in fact, two officers in the cruiser, each having sex with a woman.
Saad said she was with friends when they approached the vehicle and snapped the photo.
"At first we thought it was a joke," said Saad. "(Then) we clearly saw the two policemen and two girls and what they were doing."
A video clip was also released Wednesday shows two officers standing near a cruiser with a blonde woman and a dark-haired woman.
Montreal police confirm that a six-year veteran of the force will face disciplinary action.
"At first we doubted it — we thought it was edited," spokesman Ian Lafreniere said of the photo.
"But when we heard the testimony of the person who took the photo, we were able to move the investigation forward."
Lafreniere wouldn't say if the officer in the photo was having intercourse with the woman, but he spoke of "inappropriate acts" that could lead to a suspension.
He confirms a second officer is also being questioned and could also face sanctions.

The way I read it, Leila Saad saw the cop in the driver seat with bare shouldered woman and they appeared to be having sex, but she only saw the second cop after he and another woman got out of the car later. She's not saying she clearly saw both cops having sex. Not that l've read anyway. I think someone's taking poetic license.

Bet the story goes away quietly though.

Toddler in critical condition after cops toss stun grenade into his crib during raid

ATLANTA - A 19-month-old boy was fighting for his life at an Atlanta hospital on Friday after being severely burned by a "flash bang" grenade police tossed into the house to distract a drug suspect during a raid, police said.
The toddler was injured early on Wednesday when the device landed in the playpen where the child was sleeping, said Habersham County Sheriff Joey Terrell.
An undercover officer had purchased methamphetamine from a man who lived in the house, and police returned to arrest him in a "no-knock" raid, Terrell said. The suspect had previously been arrested on weapons charges, according to the sheriff.
Officers used a battering ram to open the home's locked door, Terrell said.
"They opened it up just enough to get the flash bang in," said the sheriff. Terrell called the incident "devastating" but unavoidable, as officers did not know the crib was in front of the door.
"All the information we had was that there were no children in the house," he said. "All you can do is pray for the child, pray for the family, pray for the officers."
The toddler was treated by medics at the scene and then taken to an Atlanta hospital where he was placed in a medically induced coma, the sheriff said. Hospital officials would not release any information on Friday about his condition.
The drug suspect, a relative of the child, was not in the house during the raid but later was arrested nearby, Terrell said.
The boy's parents told local media it could be weeks before they know if he will survive and what treatment he will need.
"He's only a baby, he didn't deserve any of this," the toddler's mother, Alecia Phonesavanh, told Atlanta television station WSB.

Florida cops arrest wrong woman... twice

TAMPA, Fla. - A Louisiana woman spent five weeks in a northern Florida jail after being wrongly arrested - twice.
Ashley Nicole Chiasson, a 28-year-old single mother, was mistaken for a woman with the same first and last name who was wanted by local authorities in Clay County, near Jacksonville, Florida, for financial crimes.
She is three years younger and at least five inches shorter than the woman that authorities sought, attorney Andrew Bonderud said in a letter to the Clay County Sheriff's Office this week announcing intent to sue. His client also has a different middle name.
"This is not mere negligence," Bonderud told Reuters on Wednesday, adding that authorities had the information needed to distinguish the two women. "This is recklessness."
Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler said in a statement that detectives took "shortcuts" in the identification process.
"The result was the wrong person was accused of crimes she didn't commit," he said, pledging to adopt new policies to ensure there is not another incident.
Chiasson was first arrested last year near New Orleans. She was extradited in January to Clay County where she spent four weeks in jail before authorities apparently realized they had the wrong person, her attorney said.
She was arrested a second time last month when, during a court hearing related to her first arrest, she was arrested for a different crime, again involving the other woman, Bonderud said. She spent another week in jail.
All charges against her were dropped late last week, sheriff's officials said.

Several Paris police officers are in trouble after photos surfaced of them in blackface at a "negro" party, French media report.
In one photo, a man has bananas on his lap and is scratching himself in the manner of a monkey.
Another shows five people, some of them wearing frizzy or dreadlock wigs, dressed in what seems to be improvised African garb. All sport big smiles.

Teacher says cop choked, pepper-sprayed her in front of students

MONTREAL -- Montreal police are examining a primary-school teacher's claim that an officer choked and pepper-sprayed her in front of students and parents at their year-end party.
Nadia Lessard tells QMI Agency that she and the school janitor were victims of "gratuitous violence" at the hands of a burly city constable Wednesday afternoon.
Lessard says she was standing outside the school building with janitor Carl Cadieux at about 5 p.m. when a police car crossed through an intersection, on a red light, without his flashers.
Lessard says Cadieux shouted to the officer "hey my friend, you burned the red without your lights on," prompting the officer to pull a U-turn and stop right in front of them.
Lessard claims the officer replied "What did you say, you little f---ing loudmouth?"
Things quickly degenerated, says Lessard, when the janitor whipped out his cell phone to film the confrontation.
She claims the officer grabbed the janitor's arm and "slammed his head on the car three times."
When she shouted at the officer to let Cadieux go, and touched his forearm, she says he grabbed her by the throat and pepper-sprayed her in the eyes as students and parents watched.
Lessard and Cadieux were arrested and charged with obstructing a peace officer.
Montreal police spokesman Ian Lafreniere says he hasn't verified Lessard's story.
"We want to meet all the police officers who were present at the scene, as well as witnesses," he said.

Baltimore officer accused of slitting dog's throat

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - A jury trial has been set for a Baltimore police officer accused of slitting the throat of a dog that had run loose from its home, according to court records filed on Thursday.
Police had restrained the 7-year-old female Shar-Pei named Nala after it bit a woman on the hand.
While the animal was restrained, Officer Jeffrey Bolger, 49, slashed the dog's throat with a knife after saying he would "gut" the animal, according to charging police documents. The dog was killed.
Bolger will face felony animal cruelty charges at a jury trial on July 28, the court filings showed.
Bolger was suspended without pay, arrested and charged, police said. He has been a member of the Baltimore police since 1992 and is assigned to the Special Operations Section.
"It was a complete violation of protocol," police spokesman Eric Kowalczy told a news conference on Wednesday. "It's not often police speak out against one of their own, but we are all truly appalled."
Police said another officer, Thomas Schmidt, a Baltimore policeman since 1990, had been suspended over the case.

5 Exonerated in Central Park "Wilding" Jogger Case Will Settle Suit for $40 Million

The five men whose convictions in the brutal 1989 beating and rape of a female jogger in Central Park were later overturned have agreed to a settlement of about $40 million from New York City to resolve a bitterly fought civil rights lawsuit over their arrests and imprisonment for a sensational crime they did not commit.

The agreement, reached between the city’s Law Department and the five plaintiffs, would bring to an end an extraordinary legal battle over a crime that came to symbolize a sense of lawlessness in New York, amid reports of “wilding” youths and a marauding “wolf pack” that set its sights on a 28-year-old investment banker who ran in the park many evenings after work.

The confidential deal, disclosed by a person who is not a party in the lawsuit but was told about the proposed settlement, must still be approved by the city comptroller and then by a federal judge.

The initial story of the crime, as told by the police and prosecutors, was that a band of young people, part of a larger gang that rampaged through Central Park, had mercilessly beaten and sexually assaulted the jogger. The story quickly exploded into the public psyche, fanned by politicians [and Rush Limbaugh] and sensational news reports that served to inflame racial tensions.

Yeah, if he'd just murdered a teenager or a homeless person, the other cops would be working away to hide evidence and obscure the facts. But a dog! That's just too much.

Two Baltimore cops are facing disciplinary action after they allegedly slit the throat of a runaway shar-pei that bit a woman’s hand.
Thomas Schmidt, a 24-year veteran of the Baltimore Police Department, has been placed on administrative leave after he allegedly held the animal in place while officer Jeff Bolger slit its throat, the Baltimore Sun reports.
Bolger has been suspended without pay and charged with aggravated animal cruelty, animal cruelty and malfeasance in office.
The dog, a seven-year-old female named Nala, escaped from owner Sara Gossard’s backyard Saturday morning.
When a woman tried to capture the dog to take it home, it bit her hand, leaving a superficial wound, according to the police report.
The woman called the police. When the two cops arrived, Bolger was heard saying “I'm going to (expletive) gut this thing," according to the police report.
The pair captured the dog and tethered it. Witnesses then report seeing Schmidt hold the in place Bolger slit its throat.

Girl caught in cruiser with cops was drunk and underage, investigation reveals

MONTREAL — An investigation into two Montreal cops caught on camera with two young women in a police cruiser has revealed one of the girls was just 17 years old.
While the cops will face disciplinary action, the Montreal Police Service insists nothing illegal happened.
A photo snapped last month by Leila Saad shows a uniformed officer sitting in the driver's seat of a police cruiser with a topless blond woman on his lap.
A separate video clip shows two officers standing near a cruiser with a blond woman and a dark-haired woman.
Saad told QMI Agency at the time that she saw two officers in the cruiser, one in the backseat, each having sex with a woman.
While the age of consent in Canada is 16, it becomes 18 if the older person is in a position of authority.
"You're talking about a uniformed police officer in a patrol car. You can't get a better description of what it means to be in a position of authority," lawyer Celina Saint-Francois said.
According a police, the young woman said she was drunk and the officer let her press up against him.
Police spokesman Ian Lafreniere said an investigation — which was based largely on statements from the two young women and the two cops — found no evidence of criminal activity.
"Right now, with the witnesses we have, the witnesses who were involved, with the video evidence we have, there's nothing criminal," Lafreniere said.
