List of nuclear reactors - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The US, Britain and Canada were the three nations that teamed up to make the Manhattan Project in WW2. Our Chalk River, Ont., reactor dates back to those days. Too bad you know so little about Canada. I'll bet you know more about the US than about Canada.

You guys really need to do your research and stop listening to all the headlines. I'm near 50 years old this year and you have any idea how many times (blah blah blah)

I've heard this before. "I'm four-and-a-half years old now and ...."

You keep on searching for that Grand Cabal...............
Where are the refineries located- In Republican States- Not hard to figure out what is what now is it.

Why don't you do a tiny bit of research before you respond to me. Start with Standard Oil and the virtual monopoly that it created that still exists in the baby Standards. And from what I recall, Harper is a second generation Standard Oil man, could be where a lot of his arrogance comes from.

And where pray tell are we to get this limitless nuclear power. name one place in Canadu that will allow the building of nuclear reactors.

That's pure politics, there's going to be virtually no incentive to build modern nuclear reactors that are much safer, cleaner and efficient when we're investing billions of dollars a year to strip and underground mine for tar sands oil and fracture bedrock all over the place to get stubborn gas and oil deposits.

Canadian nuclear engineers have already been over to China helping them develop their thorium fuel cycle Molten Salt Reactors(MSRs) which will be online in a few years and in combination with REEs the Chinese are going to have a huge economic advantage over us. Basic physics tells us that we're going to have to find carbon neutral or even carbon negative energy sources in the near future or face the consequences. We have the technology base and fertile/fissile materials here to build a completely sustainable energy system by the mid century mark, but our business and political "leaders" are too ossified to change.

("hue", not "hugh") Always a whine about Canada but worships the US. I'd be happy to give you a one-way bus ticket to the Big Apple where you can strut your stuff.

I agree but the NIMBY doesn't.

We are not interested in nukes of any kind.

That's what the real 1% would have you think.

Just check hoe many government employees in your village make over 100G a year. Come to think of it you are probably right. There is far too many of them to be only 1percent.

Geez... they can't buy it on their own? Go to the Doc and get a prescription like everyone else. Go to the Drug Store and buy some.

Seriously? It's expensive yuh know - a whole $9/month. Taxpayers MUST pick up the tab or everything will go to hell in a handbasket.
Everyone else will be responsible if I get pregnant! It'll be YOUR fault.

I'm just sayin....

From my understanding, (our US bloggers can verify this) is that Congress has the Constitutional power over spending. It's part of the checks and balances in their government. Having said that, I think the Senate and Congress are both responsible for what is happening. Obama's refusal to negotiate has created this impass. Despite what you see on TV, they have, over the last several years, provided options to be considered/debated and Obama has refused. Whether right or wrong, it looks like the Republicans are staning up for what they believe is a principle to die on. Their lack of communicating to the public about what alternatives they are advocating for and the fact that people just aren't paying attention, will no doubt mean that the Dems will be in power for a while yet.

Hopefully, people will start paying attention and dig a little deeper into what is actually going on and vote the dogs out, from both parties in 2014/2016.

As a side bar, Canadians too need to start paying attention to what's happening in Ottawa and VOTE in the next election to get rid of the dogs there too! We have our own issues to deal with.
