First of all if Christ himself said he was for NG I would still oppose it.
that bunch of clowns have the worst record on environmental issues.
Secondly I am opposed to selling any resources to Asia to make them
strong for us to compete against.
Yes we have east/west shipments that should have been done years
ago. But with new technology and advancements in efficiency the
promised prices will not be there anyway. Of course the current crop
of politicians doing their self serving best won't be there to be
responsible anyway.
The topic is Keystone XL not Northern Gateway and east west means Alberta oil going east for refining but you are on top off current events right grumpy. LOL

Still supporting the natural gas companies and their bullsh*t Climate Change scam eh MF?

Even as we've tightened our belts elsewhere, America has made record investments in clean energy technologies from wind to solar to biofuels. We're modernizing our electrical grid to harness more renewable power sources. We're doubling fuel-efficiency standards for cars and trucks. And domestic production of natural gas is at an all-time high -- natural gas, which, if developed safely and responsibly, could help bridge our energy present to our energy future. - Tom Steyer

Frak away boys, frak away!

Is it? How so?

Simple. It limits us to one market that we already suck up to for sales at a discount while NG gives us world wide market access. More jobs for Canadians too both in construction and port facilities. Running a line to the east coast would even be a better deal for Canada than KEYSTONE.

wrong. The correct answer is tea partyer.

The two are related as we as a country are too fukken dumb to build both of them, which is my preference since there is money in construction for me. Without Keystone there will at least be more pressure to build NG and a line east.

The Canadian taxpayer helped build the Alberta oil sands with money and know how and they still have to pay world prices

I helped build Molsons, yet have to pay $7 a beer in Taranna.

Is there no justice in this world?

and if you were still working for them what would you be paying? Or have the brewery's finally recognized that giving their employees free beer is not the best compensation?

What makes you think it's for American consumption? America has all the oil it needs for fuel from kerogen. They don't need our heavy oil for fuel.

The East/West is fantastic for SK because it's more SK oil than AB oil going down that line after it's upgraded in Regina by the upgrader the Province of SK and not some private company owns.

Then there is the second upgrader in Regina built specifically for the XL and the 100 fulltime jobs it will provide 10 months a year and the 1000 it provides during shut down during the other 2.

That 100 is just a sliver of the other thousands of jobs the upgraders create from coast to coast.

You need to take some time and learn about petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals and the grades of oil they are manufactured from.

Why on earth would Harper need to push for the XL pipeline in the US government?

I would assume there are plenty of US politicians who are shareholders in the companies that want to ship via the XL. They don't need 'us' to tell them what they want done, they know darn well.

If you're going to blame Harper for the governmental shut down, don't look to his stance on XL... look to his own habit of proroguing. He's just been a bad influence on the US. lol.

I met Steyer a year or two ago at his office in San Francisco. He's a hedge fund manager. Steyer began his career at Goldman Sachs and worked on Bob Rubin's arbitrage desk at Goldman. He's a well known environmentalist.

And no doubt every dollar he made was based upon a high moral standard.

From what I recall, California's heavy oil fields are more energy intensive (in terms of producing the oil) than the oil sands.

Where's Styer, Redford and Greenpeace on this?

Weather the US consumes our oil or resells it is irrelevant. The fact is that tying ourselves to one market is not in our best interests. The ability to export to anywhere in the world from the west coast is what will keep us in cash.

Take a "wild guess" why Canada sending a spaceship to Mars is more likely than what you suggest?

They are arguing over percentage of American kerogen from the Bakken that the XL will carry. Americans want more than what was initially agreed upon while pushing the "bitumen is bad campaign" funded by the rail industry and the evil frakking like f*ck natural gas companies in the New England Democrat states.

It's all available knowledge but who is looking?
