Earlier I stated my opinion. I am against banning the Burka.

As posted below yet again.
Feel free to challenge those points.
Other opinions well it is up to those Member(s) to defend those positions.

Employment- Many companies have dress codes- all legal- should traditional garb be allowed and company dress codes thrown out? Riddle me that one?

As mentioned here I go again.

For driving- License and operating a vehicle- No Burka.
Courts- No
Govt offices- No Burka.
Voting- No
And again it is a cultural norm, not a Religious based requirement.

Now consider how many companies would hire a women in a full fledged Burka as a person who meets the public as they walk in the door. Not many.

If they wish to wear the Burka shopping and such I do not care.

It's traditional.

Thanks for your comments everybody.

Now I have a deeper insight into what my grandparents had to go through when the Canadian Govt tried to snuff out our Culture and funny Religion

I hope you all enjoy our cuisine next Christmas as it now deeply rooted in Canadian Culture as mainstream.

Slavonic clothing did not carry the physical and mental health concerns of the full Burkaq. Did you read the Me quarterly links that I provided?

AND your ancestors did not '
honor kill' , threaten , or maim women who abandoned the Kerchief for the 'hat'.

Well on that we differ.
Why do you want to force you idea of Canada on them? There is no difference.

I'm not talking about the babushka. I'm talking about the entire Culture, language and Religion.

I am not forcing it. They make a choice that is according to you made freely by all who wear the Burka.
Now challenge my points if you wish.

The same f-*cking ugly path as 100 years ago. Why do want to being on that path Goober?

I am for banning all of this. Why? Because we had church laws here and we fought to get rid of them because they were draconian. Many women made a lot of sacrifices and endured hardships but they never gave up. These people come to our country and bring back these draconian laws and ideas which is an insult to those who already fought the fight. Not all are like this, many have integrated very well and are living a good life. It is the ones who try to change the way we do things here to suit their culture by passing it of as their religion, plus they turn against their own who have changed sometimes very violently.

Why do Islamic Woman wear the Burka?

The same reason this woman did.

What a stupid question.

Numbskulls.

The burqa covers the face which is a pagan custom and is not sanctioned in the Bible or Koran.

In the Bible only prostitutes wore face cover. See Genesis 38:15

Do you have any clue what "Separation of Church and State" means? Nothing has changed when it comes to the Draconian.

Genesis is Heeb, not Christian. When are you people going to figure that out?

Jesus was a "Heeb" who said he came to "magnify" or strengthen the laws of Moses.

You cannot ban cultural garb. It would not pass the smell test at the SCoC, and rightfully so.

I agree with the RCMP member's who are Sikh the right to wear the Turban as it is Religiously based.

I also agree with the right of Sikhs to wear a Turban in a Legion or a Military Mess where normally headdress is forbidden.

If a person is willing to go into battle, wearing their Religiously required headdress, how can I argue they cannot wear such in a Legion or a Military Mess.
The Burka is cultural, you must note and consider the difference between cultural and Religious.

He was referring to the 10 commandments.

The Ten Commandments are Mosaic Law.

As for hiding the face, these pagan women by cultural custom disfigure themselves to discourage kidnapping for sexual reasons by other tribes:

That remains the Africa equivalent of the burqa among these tribals.

An Israelite Heeb not a Jew Heeb. Christian burkas are blue BTW and not that uncommon throughout the ME.

"Jew Heeb" comprise the Judean tribes which are a part of the 12 tribes. We've only gone over this about a hundred times but if you want I can link to wiki again.

No such thing as Christian burkas or burqas - see my earlier post.

I think gerryh that you're making assumptions that aren't deserved. Hey but I'll make some assumptions too:

I'm guessing, (and I could be wrong, (not for the first time) that most of the posters here don't like it when women are FORCED to wear the burka and are threatened with beatings or death if they don't wear it. I'm also thinking that wearing the burka for government services, for most people, is also a no no. However, if the woman CHOOSES to wear a burka outside the home for shopping, etc., while it may make some of us uncomfortable, I don't believe most people would object.

Having said that, I'm thinking that if women VOLUNTARILY wear the burka, it's because of the cultural surroundings they've been brought up in. I suspect the younger women, unless threatened by their "men folk" wouldn't be caught dead wearing it.

That's my opinion (along with some assumptions). I repeat, I could be wrong.....

The Ten Commandments are Mosaic Law.

Would we tolerate that here? I would hope not!!
