What's to be done about imbeciles who put rescuers' lives at risk?

Rescuers are supposed to put their lives at risk. It's part of their job.

I suppose if a person is fully within his rights to act like an idiot. Smart people learn from others' mistakes!

What kind of rescuers are they if they are not prepared to put their lives at risk?

Let's give an example. A group of skiers decide to deliberately ski in a area that is CLEARLY marked as being a non-skiing area due to dangerous conditions. If they end up in danger because of their choice, and the rescuers decide that it is too dangerous for them to attempt a rescue, then the skiers are SOL. See, the rescuers can choose NOT to attempt a rescue when the risk is too great. However, they most often choose to attempt a rescue because they want to, not because they have to.

Absolutely, I have no sympathy whatsoever for someone who deliberately disobeys a sign, otherwise what's the use of posting the sign?
