It's really a synonym for the other related platitudes that are thrown about on these boards... Truther, birther, etc..

You get the jist

It's "gist," and at least 'round here, some of the names have specific meanings:

Birther - believes Obama was not born in the U.S.

Truther - believes any of a number of conspiracy theories about the attacks on 11 Sep 2001, particularly that they were actually committed by the U.S. or possibly Israeli governments.

Tenther - takes an extreme view of states' rights, that is, the authority of the states over the Federal government in almost all aspects of government, based on the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Looks like the Dow isn't too strong an indicator of unemployment or foreclosure rates

I doubt that foreclosure rates are a reflection on the President, probably more of a reflection of Freddie, Flossie and people themselves whko shouldn't have gone there in the first place!

Fair point. I've noticed many of you also spell "verboten" with two Ts. Same thing, I suppose.

The custom spelling for verboten is just my special little thing.

I'd suggest that it's a reflection on the economy as a whole.

Everyone is working?! Wow! When did this happen?

Pretty well every able bodied person who REALLY wants a job has one. I don't know where you live but there's several factories and mills in Canada. Where do you think a lot of your lumber etc. comes from? I just mentioned several places of employment, hospitals and jails are other big employers.
