Woman Stops Grizzly Attack With 25 Cal Pistol

This is a story of self control and marksmanship with an itsy bitsy
shooter by a woman against a fierce predator.

What is the smallest caliber you trust to protect yourself?
The Beretta Jetfire:

While out hiking in Alaska with my boyfriend we were surprisedby a huge
grizzly bear charging at us from out of no where.

She must have been protecting her cubs because she was extremely
aggressive.

If I had not had my little Beretta Jetfire with me I would not be here today!

Just one shot to my boyfriend's knee cap was all it took....
the bear gothim and I was able to escape by just walking away
at a brisk pace.

It's one of the best pistols in my collection……...

Now there's a woman with a good self preservation instinct. Note to self never hike in front of a woman that is armed.

Of course gun control is a waste of time....

Them hatian and Jamacian G's will still get their guns from Vladimir at the Docks in Toronto..... The Black Market doesnt follow the law, does the government fear regular tax paying gun owners? Id say, yes the government is...

I come from a gun owning family, and for all the drunks, rednecks and idiots ive seen with guns, no one has been shot or hurt at all.... For what its worth the people i formally mentioned were at least smart with their fire arms even though they werent smart at balancing their budget,

They just want to get all your names, and when push comes to shove they are coming for your ***'s....

And then this is for the guys who hide behind their guns:

Sooo....is it news Joe Biden is a complete moron???
No offense Colpy, the video is misleading.

Even though ole Joe is still an idiot, SCB can unload a Mossberg 590 (Slug or shot) without hurting herself or loosing her footing.

I can just see some small woman trying to use a shotgun in the house. I wouldn't even care to try it.Get hung up in a doorway. Be good business for drywallers and glaziers though.

Quite right, Nflmir. Wife has no problem firing our Ithaca Featherlight one-handed.

When we were living in the Okanagan, we both would often head for the range for skeet n trap shooting. Lots of women shot over there. Even my mother, who was 132 pound, 5'2".

Shotgun recoil is just a matter of a poorly balanced gun. Check out this video to see a well balanced, fully automatic shotgun being shot with a single hand:

AA-12 Fully Automatic Shotgun!!! - YouTube

Yeah...I've seen that. Pretty impressive, although my guess is that the lack of felt recoil is due partly to the gas system, and partly to the perfectly straight-line stock.

Oh I know....but the ladies I taught were NOT gun people, they just had to qualify....with very light, five round 18 1/2 inch barreled, Remington 870s, with light synthetic stocks that were too long for them, and firing maximum load 00 Buckshot.

We later switched to low recoil law enforcement rounds, which helped .

I didn't mean to start a firestorm, I know there are LOTS of ladies out there that can outshoot me, especially wing shooting, at which I am simply awful.

Piers Morgan proving he is an idiot yet again.

Piers Outraged NRA Sponsoring NASCAR Race

The FACTS:

The National Rifle Association gets less than 4% of its annual budget from gun company donations.

In 2011, guns were involved in 31,672 deaths in the USA, of which 19,392 were suicides, leaving 12,280 involuntary deaths. That includes accidents, homicide, police shootings, and self-defence. 8,533 were homicides.

Tobacco killed approximately 443,000 people in the USA in 2011. 49,000 of those were involuntary deaths from second hand smoke.

Tobacco is involved in FOUR times as many involuntary deaths than are firearms. That's right, you are four times more likely to die from second hand smoke than you are to be shot to death by accident or design by someone else.

And you are almost 6 times more apt to die from second hand smoke than to be murdered with a firearm.......

So...in the USA:

You are 14 times more apt to die from tobacco than from firearms.

Kinda puts it in perspective, doesn't it??

Yeah, and those tobacco companies added stronger addictive properties to those cigarettes during a time when they were not thought of as coffin nails. Seen those new ads about the dangers of smoking?? whoo hoo, pretty graphic. Cigarette smoking is voluntary, being shot is not!!.

Florida has under consideration an anti-smoking law in public spaces. Wouldn't be too surprised to see gun legislation come up eventually, even if only by state or town laws.

You can read, can't you??

Most shootings in the USA ARE voluntary.........19,000 firearms suicides a year. They are included in the 31,000 figure.

In 2011, there were 8583 HOMICIDES with guns....now that would be involuntary.

In 2011 there were 49,000 involuntary tobacco deaths from second hand smoke........almost SIX TIMES the involuntary deaths from firearms.

I said four times in the post below....my math was atrocious. SIX TIMES is correct......

Um, apparently you've never met smokers who didn't want to smoke but were addicted and couldn't stop. Apparently you don't quite grasp the idea of suicide. People commit suicide because they voluntarily wish to die. How is being purposefully shot by yourself not voluntary?
