It's you that needs to read a book or two, and not ones written a "my shyte don't stink" american.
We should all be aware that when America gets this starry eyed look in its eyes.. humming America the Beautiful.. and start salivating over themselves and God given and unequalled paramount.. greatest country in the world.. in fact.. in History... the rest of the World disappears. They should be thanking them.
I don't think they've ever really forgiven us for the not submitting with hat in our hands and thanks in our hearts to the 2 invasions we repelled.. in 1777 and 1812/13
Oh heck yeah! That's us!
Yes Brit soldiers really had their shyte together.
Filled with Canadian Born regulars under British command and Upper and Lower Canada Militia. More conveniently revised history.. American style
If movies about history can be inaccurate as long as they are entertaining, then maybe Canadians should start making movies where we take credit for for American accomplishments for a change.
The airplane was invent by two Canadians.
The first man on the moon was a Canadian.
...and so on.
the only trouble most Canadians would find the idea preposterous and pathetic. Somehow though when American make movies where they take credit for the accomplishments of other nations, Americans eat it up.... while we still find the idea preposterous and pathetic...
Its OK we are still laughing from Argo. That was a good one!
It was almost as hilarious as U-571 (The Brits really stole the inegma machine),
Inglorious Basterds (Hitler wasn't killed by Americans or Jews in a Paris Theater),
Saving Private Ryan (Americans weren't the only ones who landed on D-Day...)....
BTW, can anyone else think of other American movies where Americans are incorrectly credited with things they never did?
Why does it hurt your feelings so bad for people to talk about the omission?

As I said... I'm having fun.
But let's be honest... "just" talking about the omission? I wouldn't be having ANY fun if they were "just" talking about the omission now would I.
Actually, up until you came in with your purple font, etc., yeah, that's pretty much how it reads. Juan had posted a pretty great article on it as a matter of fact, that summed the issue up quite nicely, and most people had said 'well it's a movie'. You seemed to want a lot of hysterics and hand wringing that weren't there.
... But, he did win a few Golds without the donuts - right?
Awww c'mon now Karrie. You know this isn't my first week on CanCon.
.
Nope, that's why I know you come into almost anything where Canadians discuss their historical role in ANYthing, in any way shape or form, with a huge chip on your shoulder, and attempt to knock 'the lowly Canadians' down a peg. It makes you look ridiculously insecure.
