Yes the ones whose names we never remember because they came in 30th, 42nd and then a bunch after 50... These people should have gotten the glory, but their success and the financial rewards that come with success were stolen by Lance Armstrong and all the other cheaters in front of them.

I wonder how much Oprah makes off of Lances drug confession? Ain't she an angel. Oprahs a bigger parrasite than Armstrong ever will be.

Not all. The honest ones are no doubt the last 10 to cross the finish line.

And don't forget the many who never made it into the race.

Isn't that what progressive taxation is for?

Of course they don't all cheat. You know the ones trailing behind in the race, or those who didn't make it? They're still cyclists, no?

Actually it was just a question I put to Talloola because from what I could gather from her post she thinks they all do.

Now here is an interesting point. Lance may well go down as one of the biggest frauds in recent history but what did he really do. He used drugs to win a few bike races that are quite meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Compare this to Bernie Madoff, who is unknown by many, who scammed billions of dollars in the biggest ponzi scheme in history and is never talked about. Now really, who is the bigger and more newsworthy fraud?

... So, basically your arguing if gonorrhea is better than chlamydia here.

Sorry bud, but that's a no-win decision in my books

If he'd have cheated once and lied about it once, I would have a little patience, write it off as a mistake and learning experience. But no, the S.O.B. did it at least 7 times and lied through his teeth every time, he can go to the dogs as far as I'm concerned! The "great scheme of things" you say! Does that include the Stanley Cup playoffs, every N.H.L. game, the World Series, the Super Bowl, the Grey Cup, all sports in general, all competitions between players of all walks of life? Maybe life itself (being it's the sum of its parts) is also meaningless, so let's just all lie, steal and cheat our way through the whole charade! -:)

Re: What a crock of sh*t- lowlife gets to continue "ride" to fame with Oprah!

You really honestly believe they ALL cheat?

its not about believing anything, its about following the history of the sport
and realizing there has been lots of suspensions, and remembering many comments
by those closely related to the sport. It is a 'dirty' sport, that is enough for
me, and of course there must be a few who don't take drugs, but there are many many
in the sport, so figure it out.
Its definitely not -lance armstrong cheating and all the others 'not', that is
being very very nieve.
Performance enhancing drugs is everywhere, in many sports, so to spend so much energy
trashing one person, as though he is different from all the others is ridiculous, and
just shows that most people only read media headlines, and come to that conclusion, without
knowing anything at all about the actual sport they are referring to.

yeah, really honestly, that is what I think, after another cyclist has neen
found guilty,not what I believe.

Re: What a crock of sh*t- lowlife gets to continue "ride" to fame with Oprah!

Actually he is a low life in a pit full of low life's, mixed in with some honest people.
Lance went out of his way to destroy people livelihoods if they told the truth he
ventured out into making false statements in public and baring false witness
against those who testified with the truth. All of the good one does if they do it
without honour it does not make them honourable or respected.
Excuses are not a substitute for honest, being accountable for ones actions is
the mark of honour and Lance has not shown any of that.
The real reason he is coming forward it to pay some money back get forgiveness
and be allowed to compete in the near future again.
Some say he made a mistake, we hear that a lot. I heard it in several cases where
Federal Tories disgraced their office, when some of the Liberals got caught up in
the great scandal in Quebec that turned them into a third party or the Mr.Robinson
NDP who stole a ring. These were not mistakes they were conscious decisions to
be deceitful Each time we repeat the word mistake we condone bad behaviour.
Its time we understood the difference between a mistake and an outright bout of
dishonesty. Lance is dishonest and he got caught. I hope they treat everything as
proceeds of crime and strip his cupboard bare so he understands the difference
between mistake and corrupt.

That was the rumor at one time in the mid 1900s. The problem is the progression of havens and loopholes has had much greater research funds allocated. So parrasitic celebritism has reached epidemic proportions in this the end of the 2100st century.

I don't particularly like or dislike Oprah for that matter, she can irritate me. However she has made her money because people choose to watch her. She has built an empire on that. How does that make her a parasite?

As for interviewing Lance, why shouldn't she? Many will do it. People will flock to hear what he has to say. He has a right to speak and say whatever he wants to say. Others have the right to stick a mike in his face and make some cash off of it.

I have zero problem with that.

People choose a great many unwholesome entertainments and diversions it does nothing but weaken the human spirit further. Oprah is a misery merchant and a snake oil delivery system like her pupil Doctor Swill. She pretends to be human and humane. At least Lance can ride a bike. Hey there's another dumb choice, pay people to ride bikes. The prob with our old ball is the choice we're drowning in. I'm just envious of the filthy rich. I'm just cranky today, particularly today, and I thought id kick Oprah again like I do every time I get an opportunity. She ruined my marriage and a wild relationship..

I hear you. He's the one who got caught- the "Wayne Gretzky" of cycling, so the focus is going to be mainly on him- much more so than if Dave Semenko was caught fighting dirty- :)

Re: What a crock of sh*t- lowlife gets to continue "ride" to fame with Oprah!

Oprah comes from humble beginnings and worked her *** off to get to the top. She may even have done a few things in the early days to get ahead, that she isn't proud of today. I respect hard work, sacrifice and dedication to your career. Not everyone who is wealthy is an ruthless SOB. Oprah projects a caring thoughtful image that I believe is genuine, which is why she is so successful as a talk show host.

Oprah's business is interviewing people and she'd pretty good at it. Lance chose Oprah for his public confession, not the other way around. I'm sure Oprah paid good money for the scoop. So they fed off each other.

The only way to know which athletes are doping and which aren't is to give athletes an anything goes competition venue, so they don't have to pretend to be something they aren't. People can chose which version they'd like to watch.

Ah you can keep kicking at her, she is never down. She came from less than nothing and has built herself a billion dollar empire. She can bug the crap out of me BUT two things I respect and admire about her; her intellect and business savvy and she has never yet been blind-sided by the media. If there is dirt on her she quickly discloses it, so they have nothing on her.

I for sure will be listening to her interview of Lance if I can stand to listen to it. I find it hard to judge when people turn contrite. I am a sucker that way.

How come this fibber isn't Prime Minister?

You don't get to be Prime Minister until you mastered cheating, lying and stealing without getting caught in, other walks of life.-:)

I have absolutely no problem with, Oprah, mainly because I don't know too much about her. Everyone makes mistakes, that is the best way of learning - it's the ones who don't learn I have a problem with. (Ooops another dangling preposition- they need to be put in their place)

I predict, this will rock the world of sports. Not just cycling. It is going to blow the lid off of lots, and lots of dirt in sports... every venue because I think they all cheat. At least the winners.

And they never caught him. Why is that, how is that? Because he was that good at it. They know how long it takes to show clean and I am willing to bet, more do it than do not.

the focus is always on the winners, and everything negative by the media they are the worse of the lot, climb all over winners, beautiful
people, crooks, celebrities in trouble, or not, they never zero in on what is truly worthy, i've been done
with them for a long time.

I don't think through them, haven't for years, they mislead, the dramatize, they even lie, and they make
lots of mistakes, if one wants to know what is 'actually' going on, do a different route than media.
