Wasn't me. I'm not counting out any of you guys.

Not even me?

How could I have gotten all the way there from Australia to mark it so legibly with my right hand (I'm left handed) and get back here in time to post about it? The level of double-jet-lag I'd be experiencing would be mind boggling.

Sure I have my cloaking technology and I live in the future, but there are some things I can't do.

.... yet.

Looks pretty good for a left hander who is also capable of writing a whole different language from right to left.

War memorial vandalized, CBC silent

On Remembrance Day, a war memorial in Toronto’s Coronation Park was vandalized scrawled with the words “CANADA WILL BURN PRAISE ALLAH”.

The news hit the pages of the Toronto Sun, CTV, Global and the Toronto Star with the Toronto Police investigating the incident as a “hate crime”.

CBC.ca, however, has not reported on the incident at the time of this writing.

Perhaps it doesn’t fit their narrative?

Days ago, a video of soldiers mocking Osama bin Laden dressed up in a turban in “brown face” surfaced and the CBC cleared space for the “exclusive”. A warning even preceded the story suggesting that viewers/listeners may be offended by the video.

Sources in Ottawa report that CBC was in possession of the video for at least a couple of months and sat on the “story” until Veteran’s Week.

CBC ran a follow-up story on the reaction that its story generated with, er, Shaun Majumdar, their own on-air talent. The top three comments from their audience on the story?

“9 out of 10 real Canadians would not find that offensive…Its time for some people to get a life…” (2566 up votes / 569 downvotes)

“Breaking News…. “Canadians have a Sense of Humor” (2096 / 293)

“Big deal nothing wrong with it” (1923 / 356)

It’s clear that the folks over at the state-funded broadcaster are more interested in reporting perceived insults by Canadian soldiers than an actual crime of vandalism that offends the memory of fallen Canadian soldiers.

Why is that?

Why indeed.

Say whoever did this was caught.
The we would find out

1 - if it was a bunch of kids

2 - if it was some Muslims

3 - if it was some other hate group

4- If it was bunch of/or a single drunken idiot(s)

And everyone is possible.

Same as jumping to conclusions.

Or all of the above -- drunken muslim kids members of a hate group.

.

Really? CBC doesn't report on what people write on bathroom walls either. It's a juvenile scrawl on a monument that means nothing, and who it is written by is completely unclear. And you're comparing it to an actual news story about soldiers? Holy objectivity batman.

The fact that this made news at all smacks of huge leaps to a shaky conclusion. It's ridiculous.

But that is Canadian news today, huge leaps with no substance selling shaky conclusions into the bigger stream of international banker demonization of the targeted enemy of the day. As this piece of rotting journalism matures no doubt Syrians will be fingered as the culprits or Palestinians or anybody else who opposes murder and genocide by the monied scum.

Possibly a plot by the unmonied scum.

If Justin Bieber's break up can make the news then anything can. Most important stories don't get a whole lot of coverage.

When there was vandals in my graduation year, our Principal held an assembly and threatened to cancel all grad celebrations until the vandalism was fixed or the vandals turned themselves in. 200 innocent grads showed up and cleaned the vandalism, then they were so mad that no one dared pulled another stunt in fear of being lynched.

I would like to see similar tactics used here.

My high school used that tactic after a similar situation. It pissed off a lot of people but didnt bother me. I had no plans to take part in the celebrations or go on the grad trip.

It is a rather stupid tactic. It'd be the equivalent of arresting a whole neighborhood because there might be a criminal among them. Its the wrong way to go about things.

I look forward to the day when vandalism is a big news story. Contrary to the anit-CBC pouters, it isn't yet.

Oh wait...there's more from Remembrance Day (just like the other two stories eh):

Do you know this Douche?

This douche bag ran through the Remembrance Day ceremony for the vets at sunnybrook hospital kicking over little Canada flags planted in the grass by the vets while giving the vets the finger. My friends grandfather sent this pic out. Trying to find out who he is (my friend is a Toronto cop and an old army buddy)
