Yep. Sad, but true: The boycott insanity is growing. Now businesses are being attacked as racist due to having to lay off workers or cut hours in response to Obamacare. Or, for even just considering it as an option! Financial reality is hard.

The 'insanity' of people boycotting these places claiming racism is wrong.
It comes down to political beliefs and greed on behalf of the owners and not racism.
I personally have never eaten at either of these places as I prefer locally owned restaurants so I won't be boycotting.....

It also means servers at Red Lobster now manage four tables at a time instead of three, in case you're wondering why your endless popcorn shrimp refills were taking so long.

Many thousands of Canadians are sent to the US each year because we ain't got the facilities to treat them and the Mericans do a terrible job of treating them.
We are going to go through this whole discussion again in May if the NDP win in BC. They have already promised to raise taxes to provide even more social programs(read jobs for government union members) and businesses have threatened to shut down the economy.
Apparently the provision of healthcare should be a global, inalienable human right...... A right that is so important that no one should have to pay for those services

None of those businesses will close their doors out of spite... There comes a point in time when they are forced to consider alternatives.
A good example are the many businesses that relocated from California to Texas. They still sell their products/services into California, but the office out of Tx and pay lower State taxes because of it. The bottom-line is that they end up supporting the Texas tax base at the expense of California.
This is the potential circumstance that may affect BC

Partly. There is also the cutting back on investment in the province. Also the unidentifiable number of businesses that don't start up because investors choose to park their money elsewhere.
