I don't find Tim's good enough coffee to drink black either Ron. Not in their stores anyway. Tim's coarse grind coffee is however our bush coffee of choice for the campfire. Largely by default because just about everyone else stopped making coarse grind, but, we still enjoy it. and it's better than in their shops, dunno why

To me, the first sign of an excellent cafe is when I walk in and ask for, "A coffee, please," and am I served one without further questions. Then you know that they have some idea what a coffee is supposed to be.

It is always a pleasure to go to my wife's home town. Good, cheap coffee.

I walked up to a coffee counter I was unfamiliar with, in a city I was unfamiliar with, took one look at the ridiculous list of coffee types and size names and just gave up. I walked up to the guy and said 'I'll take your biggest cup of your darkest roast coffee, black please.' And he just about couldn't stop laughing. He said I'd absolutely made his day with my refusal to bow to the menu gobbeldygook. lol.

Why would you need to? We are told there is 7% of the workforce out there out of work and looking for jobs -- any jobs. Why can't they pour coffee?

You'd need to ask those 7% I'd assume. But to the best of my knowledge they have to substantiate a need before they are allowed to advertise for out of country workers.

A good barista is hard to find.

Well, when one has coffee from a barista it's going to be hard to find any coffee that will be comparable, lol. Most coffee that you buy is brewed by folks who earn minimum wage and put a premeasured amount into the filter.

Second Cup is leaps and bounds better than Starbucks

Timothy's as well is not bad.

Country Style was OK. Maybe I am a bit of a coffee snob, I guess.

You can enjoy a Tim's double cream. I drink everything black so I taste it.
I thus can't hide anything with cream or suger, etc...nor should I have to,
but I hear you.

A bird in hand is worth two inn the bush, and a Tim's is better than a kick
in the **** with a frozen moccisin. Robins (for take-out) has Tim's beat
hands down, but sometimes you have to take what you can get.

Ah, drinking it black does make all the difference. I do like cream in my coffee and I tend to judge what's good coffee by whether or not I need a bit of sugar in it as well. I prefer not to put sugar in at all, I'm not really fond of sweet, but sometimes you need to counter brews that are extremely bitter.

Don't you guys have a grocery store with an assortment of beans and a grinder with multiple settings?

Yep, and that's what I do at home. Melita dark roast. But i'm really not gonna be bothered to grind my good coffee for out in the bush. lol. Grab some coarse grind and go. That way I can have 10 cans in the sea-can and no one has to die if we run out.

Actually you'd probably laugh if you saw my coffee cupboard. two different grinders. Two french presses (one for foaming milk, one for making coffee), a moka pot for espresso. A mini battery operated foamer that was a stocking stuffer but rarely gets used. Assorted sprinkles, syrups, and coffee types and flavours. I can whip together one HELL of a latte.

Friggin right, and I'd hang him too, what's it to you.. you pompous arrogant twit..

Tim Horton has previously taken away his franchise long before this become public.. yeah, I'm sure he is innocent. Don't you think Tim Horton would investigate and have lawyer protect their image and any liability before they seize a franchise from someone.

The guy is guilty as sin.. I feel so bad for the workers.. there way to many bigots like this in Canada..

This guy should also be investigated for trafficking humans.. sadly, it look like the Canadian government is the accomplice.

Exactly, but I would stretch that to the news media.. the minute his name is run along side that story.. life's over.

The the facts are pretty clear, and the past dealings with Timmy's speaks volumes. No way, no how Timmy's is going to open themselves up to a lawsuit before seizing a franchise. I am sure their lawyers investigated this guy already and know far more than the authorities do.
I was being sarcastic and where do you get off talking to Karrie, or anyone, like that? All she did was make an observation. Cool your jets.

Lately she has been making a consorted effort to attack every dam post I have made.. almost like a Internet Stalker.. she seems to dislike every opinion I have..

Well, so sorry, it's the Internet.. everyone has a different opinion.. that's what makes EVERYONE so unique.. but to attack (or at least that is how I feel she has been lately towards me) everything I post is getting ridiculous.

If SHE has a problem with me.. send me a PM. (and Jets are Cooling)

Yes, what do you call that in Canada; "Human Rights Commission" ?? charged him..

Oh F**k, so that will tie up the courts for four years. We're just strangled with bureaucracy. Instead of courts Gov't should have counsellers/mediator, the onus should be on the guy(s) laying the complaint to meet with perpetrator and a mediator and if everyone talked sense for half an hour I think a lot of this sh*t could be sorted out at minimal cost and time loss.

Eh, no argument there.. don't shoot the messenger. 8O

Personally, I think it should be dealt with in a civil court.. but that's just me.

I'd like to know if Tim Horton would side with the immigrant workers and help them out.? Financially, legal representation, whatever..

A corporation stepping up and doing the right thing... for once.. (Alice and Wonderland??)

..and do I think he is guilty? Guilty as Sin, everything that was claimed to have been said, sounds like the typical BS I hear from people in the US.. towards Hispanics or Immigrants in general..

I don't know what the situation is when a guy "owns" a business under an umbrella. Common sense would suggest he would have to abide by Timmy's ethical and moral code, so I wouldn't think it would take more than 5 minutes to figure out if that's been broken or not. Part of the problem seems to be more with what happened after work than actually on the job, so maybe Timmy wouldn't give a sh*t about that stuff.
