I don't understand why, in the land of free speech, the act of disrespecting the flag is considered such a crime. If you believe in free speech, then you must believe in the right to disrespect the flag. It's only a symbol, after all.
I guess you're not following the 'occupy' protests. Oakland is a classic example and Anaheim got very bad on a couple of occasions.
