I'm not concerned with the logo. I would much rather micosoft focus on making a version of windows that actually works. I would also like to see Microsoft create their own version of a complete cd/dvd suite (with a decrypter and a shrinker). media player is crap. my older sister would like to see an express version of word. there used to be a program called works word processor. Microsoft discontinued that.

I mainly use Media Player for MP3s, so I don't have any issues with it.:)

Of course, Windows 8 is supposed to be getting released in October(didn't Windows 7 just come out not that long ago?). I hope they continue to support XP, as that is the OS I have on my computer(the only other one I could upgrade to would be Vista, and besides it being obsolete, is also a piece of crap!).

The Graphic Designer they interviewed obviously has no clue on why the designed their new logo the way they did.

I'm guessing he hasn't used a Windows 7 Phone, nor has he even seen the new Windows 8 OS that's coming??

I have a Windows 7 phone and love it.... I'm also a Graphic Designer (among many other things) with over a decade of experience.... and their logo fits and works in representing exactly what they are bringing their customers, while at the same time still connecting to their previous corporate identity. From using the Windows 7 Phone for the last two months, I like it a lot and I'm looking forward to the Windows 8 OS which is heavily based off of the Phone's OS layout.

Everything is basically square and solid in colour, where the eye candy occurs during transitions and interaction.

This guy spouting off general out-of-college GD pointers only covers so much and not everything fits inside the general rule book.

Some people didn't like the new Pepsi logo.... sh*t happens.

To say that Microsoft made a "Gaffe" with their logo based on one guy's opinion who runs a "Do it Yourself" Logo Web Site, isn't very accurate.

8O.........Bill probably fired his graphics crew and said; "look, just four different coloured squares........OK!!!"

I don't have a dog in that fight. New logo is fine with me.

Just make sure all the programs work, Willie............and give away more money to good causes.

New logo? Who gives a damn? I'm more concerned about buying a machine that I can customize to suit my needs, and Microsoft gives me that.
