Bottles of Tesco ‘Everyday Value Still Water’ and Asda ‘Smartprice Still Water’ are sitting on shelves alongside big brands of mineral water such as Evian and Perrier.

Actually tap water is generally almost as good as the stuff that costs almost as much as pop in the stores. $millions annually is wasted on bottled water.

People pay for water with sugar and carbonation in it, they pay for water that's been boiled and has leaves in it, they pay for water that's been boiled and poured over ground up beans.

You can't have a true socialist society until the world as a whole adopts it.Otherwise poorer countries (such as Cuba) will remain bereft of certain objects if they can't afford them and find other means of survival (like the " practice of refilling water bottles with untreated tap water and reselling them, in Cuba').
I also don't know how you figure this practice is something inherent in the socialist system, for one thing it's not widespread in Cuba and probably only occurs in rural areas , secondly these type of things happen all over the world. In the U.S they find bottled water contaminated all the time.

Not in theory, but that's almost always what happens. It's just human nature. If people aren't rewarded to work, they aren't motivated to work, and as result, they don't work. Things start to fall apart.

Actually any public facility, such as water purification and sewage plants are socialist as is any other service intended for the public good and divorced from the profit motive. Right wing capitalists are simply afraid to admit that this is the case. The problen you described above is not a lack of captialism, but a lack of social infrastructure. The wealthy can always buy services in any society.
