Now wait a minute here, we don't need to ban axe's we need to register them under two
categories. The long handled axe is usually not used in night clubs because too much
room is needed to wield them in a confined space. Therefore we should ban Hatchets
they are far more dangerous but long handled axes should be registered

I hope this axe registry bill won't cost $2.000.000.000.

Instead of creating a law to ban axes.....why not just create a law to prevent
people (through the threat of severe & real punishment) from using axes as
weapons upon each other? Same with knives and guns and bats and tire
irons and so on and so forth. I think that would be much easier, make more
sence, and be a realistic deterent to this sort of violence.

Hey, wait a second! Don't we already have......???

The usual gun-obsessed nonsense. Equating a useful tool with firearms is a typical apples and oranges comparison. and is, of course, a complete non-sequitur. Nice try guys, but it makes as much sense as most pro-gun rubbish.

What, a gun is not a "useful tool"???

Don't forget machetes, they are a popular weapon with at least one segment of the population!

Don't play the fool. You know as well as I that there is a big difference between a household tool and one whose prime function is to to kill. And yes, I realize that some people buy firearms for recreational purposes, but that does not in any way change their historical function.

Before guns people used other "food aquiring tools" as weapons. They used farm tools. Scythes, rakes, hoes, flails etc.

You can also kill people using plastic bags (just ask the Khmer Rouge), prescription and non-prescription drugs, silk scarves, etc. In fact in depraved hands a great many innocent objects including parts of the human body can be used to kill, but firearms like many other weapons are purposely designed to kill and that puts them in a special category.
