LOL I read that too. They go on to say people pay other taxes besides income tax.
Does Oregon still have no State sales tax?Yep, maybe folks who get "wound up" over U.S. income tax should take a gander at Oregon's property taxes! For instance!
Flossy...are you saying 47% do pay an income tax or don't pay an income tax?
Does Oregon still have no State sales tax?
As for taxes the place where people are screwed is quebec.
In excess of 50% (top rate) of income is paid-out to fed and prov sources. That doesn't include HST, sales taxes or hidden taxes like on gas and other consumables.
You have not proven an exclusion to federal income tax.
Exactly, and we're told by some that, its a great place to live, and we better stay here cause its impossible to live outside of quebec.
WGAF what the tax is called or who imposes it, if you have to pay it?
Because captain morgan is implying that a state/provincial tax necessarily excludes that same person from paying a federal tax. That is not the case. Nor is it the case that out of all working members, 47% of do not pay federal tax. The full quote from the tax policy center, as I already mentioned is that 47% of single-filer tax payers in 2009 paid federal tax.
That's a stark contrast to the implication that 47% of Americans currently pay federal taxes.
But you know, if we cut out certain words from a sentence, then captain morgan is __ __ ___ correct on this issue.
Why file combined if you don't get any credits?
The numbers are the numbers, as posted by the US Tax dept, look it up Flossy. They ain't my words, and unlike yourself, I don't apply a subjective interpretation to the scenario.
It does and they do.I don't know if they allow for split income in the States, but if they do, it makes Flossy's position even more tenuous.
