Misleading robocalls went to voters ID'd as non-Tories - Politics - CBC News
Robocallgate isn't over yet, the people affected were on a proprietary list owned by the Conservative party and in some cases some of those redirected claim the calls all came from the same source. There's also the Conservative campaigner in Guelph who's IP address has been linked to local robocalls that misdirected non-Conservative voters. Can we claim to even have a fair electoral system now, this hasn't been the first case of election fraud under the Conservatives.
The things I value most are democracy, real - not faked - justice and respect of basic human freedoms, I'd like to think that a majority of Canadians are with me on this. I also think that given a honest chance to prosper most people in this country will, but the Conservatives are no different than the Liberals in creating their own set of roadblocks IMO. I'm seeing a lot more poverty in this city in recent years and this is supposed to be the hotbed of the Canadian economy. The longgun registry was more symbolic than anything, we need something real to make a difference.
I see little evidence that the current(or last) government realy cares about these things, politics just seems like one big scam to them.
I know I am late to conversation, but I don't understand why people are only starting to take notice to this whole run about. It has been going on for so long it's pretty much common place for EVERYTHING. Is it just because harper is the one who is pulling these particular strings?

Last time I checked democracy was alive and well in Canada. You are still allowed to vote, voice your opinion and live where you want. Just because you do not agree with the current party in power does not mean democracy is in trouble. The cons have a majority government so they can do pretty much as they please for the next three years. If enough people don't like what they see there will be a change of government. So far there is little to excite most people in the other parties, both of which are about the best vote getters the cons have at the moment. This may change after the Libs have their election or it might not. Time will tell.
It is entirely possible that Harper will be the catalyst that gets whiners off their fat lazy asses and go and vote. You gotta admit that the voting numbers are pathetic.
