There's that too.And I like living in secular Canada.
And I like living in secular Canada.
That's your opinion.
What was Christianity like 6 centuries ago?
It's not an argument. It's a question. The little ? at the end of it is the clue.Straw man argument
Oh, I know that most of our law was based upon some Christian morals. But people tend to like the separation of church and state. It's one of the reasons people migrated to North America in the first place. There's that too.
But it's inescapable, Canon law, is a strong component of western legal culture.
That legal culture is the one that has given us our freedoms.
Just sayin'.
Check when Saudi outlawed Slavery - Check when a number of young girls burned to death because the religious Police (Saudi) would not let them be rescued as they were not properly attired.
How long before they catch up - Next Millenia?[/quopte]Who knows? I don't make predictions without loads of data. And in my POV, Muslims seem to be starting to reject the parts of Islam that's kept them oppressed. That's not regressive, IMO.And I am not slagging you - Just that Islam seems to be regressing along Religious lines- The majority against the minority - and Christians happen to be a fair target for all.
Look to Nigeria- Give it time and the probability it will split along religious lines- Much like Sudan.
You may be right. The same could happen in Iraq with the Kurds.
Egypt - 10 % of the population Coptic Christians - They have been persecuted for decade after decade.
Oh yes - off topic but I believe there is 1 Jew left in Afghanistan -
Either way, I still see plenty of Muslim bashing as well as Christian bashing.
I'm well aware of that. I never said anything to the contrary. But people tend to like the separation of church and state. It's one of the reasons people migrated to North America in the first place.

lol I never said you said anything to the contrary.I'm well aware of that. I never said anything to the contrary.
Congrats. I'll stick to the secular part.I still appreciate living in Christian based Canada.
Any of what?Tell me, when was the last time Canadian Muslims did any of that?
Any of what?
lol I dropped it after I posted the question. I wasn't really expecting an answer to the question anyway. You're the one that keeps dragging it along. The question is the start of a strawman argument. It matters not what was going on 6 centuries ago.
Which part is that?Congrats. I'll stick to the secular part.![]()
I wasn't attempting to play word games. It was an honest question, looking for clarification.forget it... not interested in playing word games today... not in the mood for it.
I actually agree. Only one gets defended and is protected by UN declaration, and the Canadian HRC's.I stick to my opinion that Christianity is no more maligned than Islam.
Because we've had honour killings in Canada.
I agree, although a quick Googling didn't produce any right away.and not just by Muslims.
I would go so far as to say they all are.and from what I can see, some of those murders could just as easily be considered domestic violence.
With all due disrespect, you are one of the reasons people have such a poor perception of Christianity." The Lies They Spread About Christianity, his 14th book, he writes that Christianity has become the most abused faith on Earth."
To say nothing of having to write 14 books and still not have the message out is an abuse that pays $$, abuse of his readers IMO.
He probably doesn't even believe half of what was in his 1st book and if it has changed much he shouldn't be allowed to write without offering a refund if his view changes.
When was the last time you ever heard the term 'false christian' in any media form? (even radical or something that is equal to a 'blind jew' or a 'terrorist muslin') Most likely never, so we do keep our dirty laundry hidden when exposing it for what it is would be the correct way of handling the situation.I stick to my opinion that Christianity is no more maligned than Islam.
Both are aggressive and based upon nothing but a weak supposition so I really don't care much about what each do.
Using an extreme as a baseline? oooooooooo k
lol You brought up the "recent" "rule". It ain't mine. Recent is relative.
I think it'd be pretty hard to separate a Muslim from his/her religion, so in a sense, if a Muslim is maligned, it's at least apparent to that Muslim and other Muslims that it must be because of Islam.
Ever notice all the anti-Islam crap in the States?
"But this year, there is a special new effort to mobilize French Muslims to speak up at the ballot box in Sunday's presidential race — amid a surge of Islam-bashing among the French right." I am not sure about you but "bashing" can be seen as maligning, IMO.
