This is just one more nail in the coffin of the Islamic government that controls Iran. For the last decade the government has shown that it is completely out of touch with the youth of the nation, who form the largest single demogarphic of Iran's population. The next election is going to be very interesting and if the incumbent party attempts to steal the election again, expect all hell to break loose. Iran is headed down the same path as Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, and Syria.

They have some say now in what happens to them. They aren't living in a country with heavy sanctions on it anymore. Basically, they have a chance. Had Saddam remained in that wouldn't be the case.
Was it worth it? I think it's still to early to tell. Maybe in 10-20 years.

Apparently not, what is false about it is that the killings are the work of the clergy, it would be done by what is equal to the KKK in Christianity.
Did the West forget to give them the new UN sanctioned code of conduct towards civilians, especially children. That was one of the talking points of the 2nd invasion, anybody from the West finally going to admnit things are that way because that is exactly how the plan goes. Same **** Carter pulled in Afghanistan in the '70's. Give some people a new rulebook and let them almost kill off the old guard that would rather die than give up control, the under some lie suddenly supply the old guard with the weapons they need to retake what they lost. In Afghanistan the first tactic was to start throwing acid in the faces of women who bared their face in public, that was the start of the terror campaign authorized and financed by the US. It would appear the same tactic is being used in Iraq. Let western trends creep in and then let the old guard handle it ways that would make Saddam wince because it targets children. Looks like NATO better invade, just like they should in Bahrain, when do those rebels get tank-buster shells?

Hmm, I'm inclined to think it's quite the other way around, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, and Syria are going down the same path Iran went 30 years ago. All four of those countries are well on the way to establishing an Islamic government. Just like Iran. Well, 3 for sure anyway, Assad might be able to hold out, but I doubt it.
