What do you pray for?

Prayer is an expression of hope, despair, desire, regret, and pennance. Whether ot not there is or is an Answerer is irrelevant. It is an expression of our humanity.

One thing I do pray for is people to have more patience before they go off on a tangent.

Ah yes the tangent denial prayer, I ..... have never heard of it.
An on topic question. Does it matter (decrease the odds that it will be answered) if you say a prayer (in the comfort of your home or someplace similar) if you follow the Bible's direction (say the Lord's prayer) before you offer your 'request'?
I'm sure the 72 wives feel the same way.

I'm not missing, I've read this thread, and have nothing to say about it that meets the conditions the OP asks us to respect, so I won't say anything beyond the obvious point that anyone who knows me could predict: there's nothing I pray for, I don't pray at all.
What do I pray for? For ending of poisonous feuds between theists and atheists.

I don't pray for anything, except for an occasional sick person. I thank God for what I have. And I have a LOT. As I float in the warm water of my pool on my raft, I silently thank him for the beautiful blue Texas sky, the brilliant blooms on the crepe myrtles, my full and magnificent trees, and all the many gifts He's given me.

mom. she has a combination of health problems diabetes, heart attack, heart disease, lung disease, etc. she requires an oxygen tank.
