I'm becoming increasingly convinced that NO Republican candidate will be able to defeat Obama in 2012. I base that on the encroaching realization that the U.S., in fact the entire West, in entering a Depression. At some point, even the American public will clue into the fact that this is a direct result of Free Market (Free Trade, Monetarism, Deregulation, Privatization) that have controlled the global economy since the early 1970s.

It's true that Obama has not had either the courage, sense or political will to do anything but tow the Global oligarch's line, but he is the LEAST wedded to it as political philosophy than any Republican. Every Republican candidate is a RADICAL global free market libertarian and 'small government' conservative.

I think he will be re-elected, simply because he is a known quantity, presumably more flexible than his opposition, less beholden to political pressures in a second term. Like the Great Depression, the electorate will be looking for a progressive economic dirigiste as Chief Executive.

The only problem is Obama is NO Franklin Roosevelt.. or certainly has not proven himself anything like that in his first term.. which has been inept, inconsistent, and led by events. That will have to turn around completely if he's going to be up to the challenge of a series of economic shocks that we are already seeing on the horizon.

Obama is still a unknown quantity, we really no nothing about him other than his political history.
Who is Barack Obama, what is his history other than what was manufactured for him. How come he has no old school friends who knew him back when? It is as if he himself was manufactured. Like him or dislike him, who is he?

Now back to Forum:

GOP presidential frontrunner Newt Gingrich stirred up plenty of controversy last week when he called Palestinians an "invented people" in an interview from the campaign trail.
"I think we have an invented Palestinian people who are in fact Arabs and historically part of the Arab community and they had the chance to go many places,' Gingrich told the Jewish Channel last week.
All of which makes the above 1993 photo of Gingrich, then House Minority Whip, embracing the late Palestinian Liberation Organization chief Yasser Arafat, published by the Huffington Post's Sam Stein, rather noteworthy. Stein, who received the photo from a longtime political operative involved in Middle East issues, writes:

Doesn't matter who ends up becoming the GOP nominee, the Bamster loses in a landslide. He'll be lucky to win California.

Newt speaks out of five corners of his mouth at the same time. The problem is 1) he only has 2 corners and 2) All he ever does in contradict himself. He is a "Has been" and still refuses to see that fact.

I've made the prediction that the Muslim-in-chief will steal the election, but I really, really, hope you're right!

The fact you keep saying "Muslim-in-chief" just proves that you're not worth listening to for anything, much less be qualified to predict the outcome of an election. You're just like the other idiots who keep going on about his birth certificate; get over it, the man could be voted out next year and then you'll have what you deserve but for Gawd's sake, give it a rest already.

 You must like Barry.......relax, he's going to win.

Honestly, while there are some things I like what Obama has TRIED to do, I also think there are things he shouldn't have done and I also think he needs to grow a pair.

But I'm not POTUS and Gawd only knows what he has to face every day.

That said, I don't like or dislike the man. He's a politician.
