But Turkey's involvement in this conflict could not be remotely construed as acting on behalf of Israel, unlike any action by Canada, the US or the UK.

Seeing Syria, Lebanon, and Iran fall from their current Government is exactly what Israel would love to see happen. Odd that Israel can gun-down Syrian citizens through scopes (they were that far away) yet the local Government (Dictatorship) cannot shoot back when it's troops are being killed, last count was 100 and that was a month ago.

Israel nor the US want Russian armaments sweeping into Syria. Iran manufacturers it's own arms to some degree. Be itheresting to see what brought down that drone in Iran. An HE explosion in close proximity might be enough to disable electronics if the butterfly effect can also effect non fleshy parts in close proximity(in himans the heart and lungs turn to mush). Even a high altitude explosion might be enough to defeat stealth as passive ground radar would see 'holes' in what should be a uniform background.

Syria is a different kettle of fish and the Arab world knows it. We have the group Hezbollah in the
south that is supported by Iran and in many instances Syria. What is strange about that you ask?
Iran is a Shia Muslim country and Syria is a Sunni Muslim State and normally they are not that
friendly. The difference here is they both have a serious resentment of Israel.
Syria is in control of its institutions at the present time and I think there would be serious implications
if America or the west went in. Not because the would offend Iran, but because it could unify the
neighbouring states against America. Turkey is a nation that is on the crossroad as the which way it
might go.
America and Europe are not crazy about upsetting that balance right now. For example the fruit
industry has a strange relationship in that nation along with other business interests. The Israelis
have the expertise and the money and the Turks have the land required and they get along just fine
at the present time. If they upset the balance it has implications for defence, commerce and the
politics of the region.
Sometimes its best to leave sleeping dogs lie for a while. I don't think the nations of the world are
interested in creating a conflict here while we are on the verge of seeing the world economy in the tank.
War is usually a solution for recession but in the Middle East it has proven very unprofittable.

Its off topic, but it appears that Iran's electronic espionage commandeered the drone after they say it entered Iranian airspace. I have no Iranian source for that claim. But the drone was not shot down. Speculation, the drone probably suffered an abrupt forced landing on the Iranian side of the border

The words I got were 'mostly intact'. Syria and Iran have a mutual defense pact with Russia and each other. An attack on Syria could involve weapons such as Iran used and potentially making the battle one that has no air superiority for either side. That would leave heavy armor and satellite targeting as the main forces. Syria also has the S-300 idf it has not already been upgraded to the S-500 system. Main difference being the 500 systen has multiple smaller faster missles in the nose-cone of the primary missile, rather than being limited to one targetr each one is capable of targeting 10 independent targets with missiles that have a shorter range but are much smaller and much more maneuverable and much faster.

I didn't want to start a new thread for the shoot down of a US drone in Iran or for this next piece. If the drone was a slap on the hand for the US then this piece is a slap on their pee-pee and it could spell disaster more than Syria or Iran could ever cause.

A huge war is inevitable.

IF that is the case, and it might be, it is because a huge war is wanted/ desired by the warmongering empire. One massive way of cleansing the planet of too many people that require food , OIL, clothing shelter and an education. One way of taking control of the nations still not under the empire's influence.

Just hope someone is keeping track of all the casualties that are adding up even now and those that are to come. Historians will have some gruesome facts to sort through in order to comprehend this phase of human DEVOLUTION...and how it was allowed to happen.

IF a war was not wanted, it would not happen. Who benefits from a huge war?? Gives "war and profits" a whole new meaning .

Libya’s model was replicated. Months of externally generated violence followed. So far it’s short of war. For how long is uncertain. Obama can’t wait to wage another one to keep ravaging the world one country at a time.

Months of violence, sanctions and isolation have taken a toll. Deaths mount. No one knows how many. Western media reported numbers come from opposition forces, not independent observers. Nothing they say is reliable.

Now. THAT is a very interesting development and approach. ...deploying "Anti Terror troops". (rather clever . That would mean these troops would deal with any invading forces who could be defined as terrorists )

Once again.........the value of "terrorism" cannot be underplayed. as it can be manipulated for all kinds of political agenda.

What they will bring is better ways of identifying where the targets are. If the ones about to be killed or captured are paraded on National tv the Syrians and the rest of the world will see it they are nationalists or they have outside help. Either way with Russia officially there NATO won't be taking over the air-space if they ever had plans to and no charges of smuggling can be thrown around. I wonder if Iran will allow Russia to install an aggressive systems, as a defense of course.

Does NATO still have French forces guarding any parts of the border with Lebanon? That has been the escape route for some groups of armed men who confiscate a civilian car a gun-point as soon as they enter the country. You know who they are working for.
