As Predicted, Arab League and Turkey Reportedly Plan No-Fly Zone Over Syria With U.S. Logistical Support :
Al Bawaba revealed that anonymous “Senior European sources” said that America will provide logistical support for Arab fighter jets and possibly Turkish warplanes in an effort to implement a no-fly zone over Syrian airspace.
This would come after the Arab League, who has already booted Syria, will issue a decision calling for the protection of civilians in Syria, as was the case with the UN’s resolution to “protect” civilians in Libya.

Saudi Arabia sent tanks to the Bahrain Govt for them tp use against civilians, no they are instrumental in booting Syria out after more than 100 troops have been killed by 'peaceful civilian' uprising, pot, .... kettle, .... black.

How many Govt troops have to be killed before the Military has the right to shoot back? so far I have seen zero number of reports of Syria using attacks from the air as a means of controlling civilian demonstrations

I wonder if the air defense systems are tied to the 3 Russian Ships in Syrian waters? That would put the S-300 system under ships that probably interact with the latest system and as such would have all the upgraded software for targeting and tracking and that could be what system Turkey and planes from Saudi.

Be interesting to see if Turkey can actually attack somebody who is also the enemy of Israel. The show that Turkey is involved would mean a victory for NATO control of Syria would be to give Turkey the ruling rights in exchange for NATO style gifts. The two shot war and Syria has a rule that is by a highly placed NATO authority. Along with Cyrus she is in the best position to be the 'independent' party that could take over what goods come amd go to Gaza and the West Bank. With funding from the Arab League the contracts for 'development' would be much greater than the meoney that flows through the area toady. All the $$$ contracts would go to Muslim Nations rather than NATO partners. China and Russia making the place the newest $$disney-land$$ on a grand scale, all funded by the Nations wanting regime change.

Perhaps Syria just doesn't want to become the next 'fish in a barrel' when it comes to international intervention tactics. I doubt the opposition has told 'deserters' to lay down their guns. If the Government hadn't already had troops killed (what is the number now) then the violence would be less than it is now.

(in part)
"We do not want offensive actions against the Syrian army," Ghalioun said Friday, recounting the meeting.
"We want deserting soldiers to limit their actions to defending themselves and protecting peaceful protesters and to adapt their strategy to the peaceful strategy of the democratic Syrian revolution."

If the OWS protests could attract a crowd this size you would start seeing many death, either on the protestors side or from Wall St start using the windows as their exit strategy .

Hooray for al Qaeda in Syria!
Libya quit paying them or something? I can hardly wait till the US hands the some humanitarian peace award. It does explain why OBL had to go though. Any replies as to to how Israel came to have 50,000 of them on speed-dial once the revolution was on in Libya?

Did you miss this part?

But one prominent Syrian activist, Loay Hussein, rejected the praise of the terror network's leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, telling CNN "we will not permit him or his organization to toy with our revolution and our movement."

Easy to tell these are the bad ones, look who owns them.
The “Free Syria Army” is literally an army of militant extremists, many drawn not from Syria’s military ranks, but from the Muslim Brotherhood, carrying heavy weapons back and forth over the Turkish and Lebanese borders, funded, supported, and armed by the United States, Israel, and Turkey. The latest evidence confirming this comes in the form of a report out of the International Institute for Strategic Studies which clearly states that Syria’s opposition is armed and prepared to drag Syria into more violence.
This report comes in sharp contrast to the propaganda fed via the corporate-media and the West’s foreign ministers on a daily basis, where the violence is portrayed as one-sided, with Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad “gunning down” throngs of peaceful, placard waving protesters. Just as in Libya where these so-called “peaceful protesters” turned out to be hordes of genocidal racist Al Qaeda mercenaries, led by big-oil representatives, fighting their cause upon a verified pack of lies, so too is Syria’s “pro-democracy” movement which is slowly being revealed as yet another militant brand of extremists long cultivated by Anglo-American intelligence agencies, whose leadership is harbored in London and Washington and their foot soldiers supplied a steady stream of covert military support and overt rhetorical support throughout the compromised corporate media.
The unrest in Syria from the beginning was entirely backed by Western corporate-financier interests and part of a long-planned agenda for region-wide regime change. Syria has been slated for regime change since as early as 1991. In 2002, then US Under Secretary of State John Bolton added Syria to the growing “Axis of Evil.” It would be later revealed that Bolton’s threats against Syria manifested themselves as covert funding and support for opposition groups inside of Syria spanning both the Bush and Obama administrations.

One could sincerely hope so!

The Assad regime are butchers. They are everything you accuse the USA of being. Back in the 80s, the people of Syria rose up......and Bashar's father, then ruler, murdered at least 35,000 of them..........

But, unfortunately, there will be no military action against Syria..........

except in the vacant heads of those folks at ..... OMG! I looked at your source!

Peoples' Daily.....

You CAN'T be serious!!!!!!

ROTFLMAO
This is one conflict where Colpy and I agree. The time has come for the overthrow of the Syrian government. However, Syrian is not Libya and this will be a much tougher nut to crack. While few countries liked Gaddafi, Bashar al Assad's Syria has far more strategic significance and intrigue.

In 2005 Syrian and Iran signed a mutual defense pact. Its purpose was to up the ante if Israel or the US attacked either country. If the US, NATO or Israel get involved in this civil war in any way, it could trigger a regional war. So NATO including Canada has to sit on the sidelines in this conflict or risk complicating the situation.

Syria allows Russia to use Tartous, the second largest port in Syria, as a permanent facility for the Russian navy, giving Moscow a key military foothold in the Mediterranean Sea. If the rebels want to keep Russia out of this conflict, they will have to send a clear signal that they will not interfere with Russia's plans inn this area.

I don't trust Chinese news sources when it comes to any story which involves China. But Chinese sources are pretty good when it comes to US and Russian activities or conflicts which don't affect China. I doubt China cares about this conflict one way or the other as it doesn't affect them. Therefore China is probably a better source of objective information than US, Israeli, Arab or Russian sources.

That pretty much leaves it up to Turkey to help the Syrian people overthrow their government.

Turkey is a NATO member, lol. Time to give up politics as a hobby. Nice to heard you have joined Colpy's Klan, not so sure he will be all that pleased about it though.

After participating with United Nations forces in the Korean conflict, Turkey in 1952 joined the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Turkey is currently a European Union candidate.

Turkey
Good point MHz. Turkey is part of NATO.

But Turkey's involvement in this conflict could not be remotely construed as acting on behalf of Israel, unlike any action by Canada, the US or the UK.
