Besides Israel, there are all kinds of nations and special interest groups attempting to
influence the free press of the world. Free Press of the World is something akin to a
cruel joke though. Most of the media institutions are owned by some of the biggest
special interest groups and very large conservative conglomerates. They are by nature
not friendly to anything that does not support their view. Oh they are obliged to cover
the opposite side of view, but that is done with some times less that objectivity.
There are times though the media will present the situation head on where ever the
chips may fall. There are also some people in the political middle and left that do present
the other side.
Israel has every right to put the best people they have on the public relations front line.
The problem for the Arabs and others is, they are better at it. They look sincere and they
are not radical, they don't make death to whomever statements, and they are not linked
to radical suicide bombers and others deemed to be terrorists.
See people don't tend to take the word of radical groups like that, and they view any of their
positions with suspicion as they should. The only way they are going to compete with the
Israelis is to denounce all violence, accept human rights, and exchange handshakes and
smiles declaring violence over, with their Israeli neighbours. We all know how likely that is
to happen don't we? Until that happens, I personally don't give much credibility to the
anti Israeli point of view. Mind you I view the positions put forward with more favour but
not much more favour. Neither side are angels by any means but Israel does not make
bomb plots against the west, so who would I side with? It won't be with those who want to
end the western way of life in favour of bowing to the east five times a day that is for sure.
