That's why we have the right to gather and protest. Its a healthy part of our democratic system.
I say occupation and gathering for protesting should be a basic and respected right in Canada.

How do you feel about Canada giving the World Banks about $34B in interest payments every year (and growing)? That is part odf the occupy movement.

I feel bad for my kids that are going to be most likely the ones that really pay for it with some kind of real austerity measure.

how would that money help alleviate the other issue that are part of the movement?

I don't think that it would.
I think we are facing our natural decline of wealth and power.
And our banks and wealthy don't want to go down with the ship.
So they find ways to exploit.

Jobless Occupiers Stage Sit-In at Mitch McConnell’s Office

Wearing homemade T-shirts with the words ”I need a job” written on the front and back, about 20 unemployed D.C. residents today staged a sit-in at the office of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s, R-Ky.
The group is part of OurDC, a jobs advocacy group, with a few members of OccupyDC also participating.
Eating Subway sandwiches, sitting on every piece of furniture in the minority leader’s office lobby, and even the floor, the protestors pledged to stay in McConnell’s Russell building office until they get a face-to-face meeting with McConnell.
“We believe the senators need to hear, feel and understand the pain of the unemployed,” a member of the protest said, “The bottom line for here is that there is bitter, bitter pain of not working and gridlock and they want folks to see it, hear it and feel it.”

They're getting closer to 1600 anyway.

And then there's this useful idiot, similar to the coward that push the motorcycle cop:

Occupy Portland Shoves Cop In Front Of Moving Bus

Occupy Portland protesters marched Wednesday night in a show of support for an Iraq War veteran injured in a confrontation with police at Occupy Oakland, Calif. U.S. Marine veteran Scott Olsen had his skull cracked open last week. He was hit by an Oakland police tear gas canister. He's now in critical condition.
The march, from Terry Schrunk Plaza, began at about 5:30 p.m. and continued for a little more than two hours. At one point it crossed a bridge into Southeast Portland before returning to the west side.
Police made one arrest during the march. They said 30-year-old David Anthony Burgess shoved a police sergeant into a TriMet bus while it was moving, then dashed back into the crowd.

The sergeant suffered minor injuries and did not require medical treatment, police said.

If the person doesn't even know what the movement is about why be there, in a camping mode yet.

Neither do most of the yahoos that are actually there.

Not surprising that thefts are frequent with the people actually there. None of them have any value for work or earning stuff. Theft is just another way of 'give me stuff for free'.

Did you take a survey or something. A poll could interview 100 people and publish the 15 worst answers if there was an agenda to make them look like a bunch of retards. 15 of the best answers would be counter-productive to the main-stream media as they would end up supporting the cause by showing that there are people there that do know what the underlying issues are.
Do you think the Icelandic 'public' was aware of what they were voting on or not? The situation is exactly the same, the booting out of crooked bankers and politicians is the common solution.

Where can you go where there is a crowd of any size and not have thieves roaming around?
In the vid the guy said his bike was locked up and he had a friend watching it, did the friend just let it get stolen?

Occupy Vancouver protest defies fire safety order

Occupy Vancouver protesters say they will remove some tarps they consider unsafe but don't plan to comply with all the demands from the Vancouver Fire Department to clean up the camp.
A camp spokeswoman, who only gave her name as Kiki, said the protesters don't recognize the authority of police, firefighters or other city officials in the camp, and they would resist any attempts by armed police to enter the camp on the lawn of the Vancouver Art Gallery.
They said the camp considered itself an autonomous and weapons-free community, and that city officials would be welcome as individuals but not recognized in their official capacity.
The statement came as a 10 A.M. PT deadline passed for the compliance order and protesters did take at least one tarp down.

The right wing media has attempted to smear the OWS movement in Oakland by saying it has engaged in violence. Many participants in those rallies say they had no part in that violence at all. Recently, videos of agent provocateur actions have been posted on you tube to show who really committed the violence:

Copwatch@Occupy Oakland: Beware of Police Infiltrators and Provocateurs - YouTube

Agent Provocateurs found to be cause of violence at OWS Oakland - Baltimore Sun talk forum

Black clad agents committed violence and, as you can plainly see from the videos, OWS participants tried to stop them from committing those acts of violence. Then the police allowed them to escape and blamed innocent participants for crimes they did not commit. These police crimes are reminiscent of the same actions taken by the corrupt COINTELPRO during the J Edgar Hoover era in the FBI.

Conservatives on this forum often say government is the problem. If they are consistent in their beliefs, they should be just as vehement in condemning the actions of those criminal police. So let's hear from them.

OWS ought to be in Ottawa, protesting in front of parliament, that is where the reforms these people want have to come from. But the front of Parliament is grass, it would turn into a dump quickly. They ought to put brick there so protesters can camp in a public square. Camping in front of art galleries and parks are not proper public squares.

All the proof we've shown you that the Occupy movement is the lunatic fringe, and the video you posted is all you can come up with?! It proves NOTHING.

From the video: "You have the right to be in a public place and to observe police activity."

And the police have the right to observe the activity of protesters. Since the video doesn't show this officer inciting violence (as you claim the police did) you can't legitimately call him an "agent provocateur". He's there to observe the lunatics, and acting undercover is a LEGAL tactic.

Epic fail Gopher.
