Saw the guy interviewed yesterday, and it seems he's acting on behalf of CAIR. Didn't say so, but wouldn't deny it, saying it's "legally irrelevant".

Also, I didn't quite catch it for sure, but sounded to me like the Muslim group that was denied wasn't a homegrown group created by students, but the MSA - yes THAT MSA, the Muslim Brotherhood related MSA.

It's looking like this is an aggressive political attack on a Catholic university that has nothing to do with the students of that university.

ummm...yes it is. If they want a non sectarian background for his royal heinousness, then choose someplace that is non sectarian.... not a bloody Catholic University. Or is something that simple and basic beyond the american governments simplistic minds?

No, it's not. I remember back in the spring of 2009 when this was in the news. Only crotchedty old religious types thought this was important. Everybody else laughed at them for complaining about it.

From my past readings in similar cases, the Muslim students have no valid complaint about the omnipresence of religious icons. A court cannot void such iconography as that violates the church's constitutional rights. However, if the school bans Muslim organizations while allowing other such groupings, then they may well have a legitimate grievance. The school needs to apply its standards on a uniform basis - if Protestant groups and Hillel are allowed, then Muslims groups must be allowed. But then, a gym, private room, or cafeteria can well serve as a Muslim assembly. From what I read in that link it appears to be much ado about nothing as a reasonable accommodation can be readily created.

Sleeper, Muslim schools would NEVER agree to things like this. The PC crowd would not even dare ask.

Wiaam Al Salmi, a Muslim student at CUA who recently started the Arab American Association, which had is first meeting this week, said, “The community here is very respectful of other religions and I feel free to openly practice it.”

“Even though it’s a Catholic school, a lot of its teachings are very similar to Islam,” said Al Salmi. “It teaches respect, community service, love, worship etc. which are things that Islam also teaches.”
Is there an echo in here? lol...

Rather, the discussion has only been about really practical accommodations for Muslim students.
And the Muslim students seem to be under the impression, that they've been accommodated.

So what's the beef? Just needed a little dance did ya?

Yeah... you're avoiding answering. Well, that is a U.S Liberal for you folks. Instead of admitting he's been outsmarted he'll just dance around and cherry pick.
It's not just a US liberal thang.

Everybody. That's kind of why it disappeared from the news and nobody remembers it now.

Ok... let us continue shall we?

No, it's not. I remember back in the spring of 2009 when this was in the news. Only crotchedty old religious types thought this was important. Everybody else laughed at them for complaining about it.

lmao.

You did it to yourself.

That time of year again. yes, Christmas cards. This is coming early so that you can get ready to include an important address to your list.

Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD this year.

As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world. Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it.

Here's the address, just don't be rude or crude:
ACLU
125 Broad Street , 18th Floor
New York , NY 10004

Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend 44 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a " Holiday Tree". It's always been a CHRISTMAS TREE!

And pass this on to your email lists. We really want to communicate with the ACLU! They really DESERVE us!!

For those of you who aren't aware of them, the ACLU, (the American Civil Liberties Union) is the one suing the U.S. Government to take God, Christmas or anything religious away from us. They represent the atheists and others in this war.
