TV News carried a short bit of him voicing something-or-other, then a statement from a well-dressed rebel about a "nine meelee". Discipline says Daffy was in custody. The shooter saved some poor typist from a lot of work....

So... from what I gather... British warplanes spotted the convoy...the go ahead given by the Canadian General in charge....US Drones hit the convoy... then a follow up by French warplanes... then an execution by rebels....

Looks like we all got a little dirty on this one.

It's like comparing grapes to water melons, Kadaffy was pretty light weight, actually a "choir boy" compared to Saddam, you wanna get rid of the mean cats you gotta pay the bucks!

Monday morning quarterbacking is so easy. In reality, ever situation is different. One-size-fits-all approaches rarely fit all.

Iraq in 2003 was probably weaker than Libya in 2011. Iraq suffered a 13 year embargo. Libya was able to sell oil and buy arms freely up until NATO decided to help the rebellion.

The main difference is that unlike Iraq, NATO did not invade and occupy Libya. We assisted a popular uprising. That's a huge difference. In Iraq the locals were hostile. In Libya, the locals were our allies.

The real trouble in Iraq started after the defeat of the Iraqi military when the US led alliance seized control. From that point on the US has had to deal with a hostile population.

NATO did not "directly" defeat the Libyan military. We simply amplified the effectiveness of the rebellion. Today Libyans control their own country and their destiny. We will have influence, not control. Big oil will get access to Libyan oil and make just as much money as they do in Iraq, without having to deal with a popular resistance to a foreign occupation.

So who's next?

Gaddafi was actually hiding in a drainage ditch what better place to find him.
He did so much for the world that everyone wanted to save him Ya right.
There are some disturbing images though of world leaders actually shaking
hands with him over the years and everyone appeared to be smiling didn't they.

The world allowed him to remain until he became to powerful to over throw.
It took decades but the job is done. As for who should get credit or blame I say
who cares. This guy was a terrible example of how to dress in public and
therefore he deserved what he got.

-- Circumstances of ex-Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's death must be investigated, says U.N. Human Rights chief.

CNN breaking news.

Makes sense. Such barbarism by anyone needs to be investigated. but will that happen?? In your dreams.

Hard to believe the amount of sadistic pleasure some take in this kind of atrocious killing. It does not matter who the subject was or that he was probably guilty of crimes of humanity. Those exercising this kind of "justice" just demonstrate how low and primitive they have gone.

what is even more sickening, is that it is not many years ago that he was a US (west) ally. My goodness , human nature is sure fickle about its allies and that just verifies that the "west" cannot be trusted in any relationship....particularly when there are resources involved.

Same with SH. He too was an ally until he decided to consider the euro as the currency for Iraq and until bush , who held a grudge against him came into power.....

Is this how a civilized nation behaves??? But then one assumes the nation in question is "civilized"...

BARBARISM at its worst. Obviously, he could have been taken alive. Yet so many on here rejoice in this barbarism. Speaks volumes about them

I love the golden pistol, straight pimpin, yo.

Internet LAWYER??? now that is a joke.

Who is next - If Saudi pays the bills - Turkey will go into Syria.

UN rights agency calls for Gadhafi death probe

UN rights agency calls for Gadhafi death probe - World - CBC News

another disturbing atrocity committed that probably will not be investigated. PRIMITIVE justice seems just fine for many ...particularly on here. Would hate to see how they would react if one of their family members who committed a few atrocious crimes was assassinated this way. From the enthusiasm expressed on here about this assassination up close and personal...they would care less.

Febreeze, I get giggles when I read your posts.

I am not surprised. That is the kind of low level response one can expect on here . If you addressed the topic and the inhumanity of this atrocious act...... your comments might be worth reading.

I think the UN should investigate your Copy & Paste jobs.

I was responding to your childish remark in regards to my Internet Lawyer qualifications. Your posts offend humanity by the way.

.

A US ally? Don't be such an idiot Breezy.

In the late 70's after the Iranians took over the US Embassy, the Libyans went out and sacked the US Embassy in Tripoli killing a US Marine and a US civillian in the process.

Libyan Agents bombed a nightclub in Germany killing two US Soldiers.

The US bombed the tar out of Libya in the 80's.

Libyan Agents bombed a US Airliner over Lockerbie.

The US shot down four of his MIGs in two separate incidents.

No Breezy... they were not our allies.

Would you offer up milk and cookies if it was your family and friends dead?
