Another great film was the great excape with Steve McQueen, Donald Pleasense, Richard Attenborough, James Coburn etc. It had everything, drama, humour suspense.

I can't believe I forgot to put this in my first post, but I really enjoy watching The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
I saw a really good one recently called The Blind Side. This is a seriously underrated movie with a wholesome message. There needs to be more movies like this!
Watch the main character's thoughts on the poem Charge of the Light Brigade by Alfred Tennyson at about 1:30. The poem is about the charge from British soldiers against Russian forces during the Crimean war. Even though the soldiers "knew someone had blundered" they still followed an order that led them to their death.

That was a good one. The Big Country also starring Greg Peck was even better, different genre of course!
