[The Jews] knowingly perverted [the word ofAllah], know of nothing except lies ... commit evil and become engrossed insin. [Surah II, v. 71-85]
These are the ayat 2:74- 101 and their explanation in summary, which will be against you in theafterlife, if you don’t believe:
ثُمَّ قَسَتْ قُلُوبُكُم مِّن بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ فَهِيَ كَالْحِجَارَةِأَوْ أَشَدُّ قَسْوَةً وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْحِجَارَةِ لَمَا يَتَفَجَّرُ مِنْهُالأَنْهَارُ وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَشَّقَّقُ فَيَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ الْمَاء وَإِنَّمِنْهَا لَمَا يَهْبِطُ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللّهِ وَمَا اللّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّاتَعْمَلُونَ
أَفَتَطْمَعُونَ أَن يُؤْمِنُواْ لَكُمْ وَقَدْ كَانَ فَرِيقٌمِّنْهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ كَلاَمَ اللّهِ ثُمَّ يُحَرِّفُونَهُ مِن بَعْدِ مَاعَقَلُوهُ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
وَإِذَا لَقُواْ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ قَالُواْ آمَنَّا وَإِذَاخَلاَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىَ بَعْضٍ قَالُواْ أَتُحَدِّثُونَهُم بِمَا فَتَحَ اللّهُعَلَيْكُمْ لِيُحَآجُّوكُم بِهِ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ أَفَلاَ تَعْقِلُونَ
أَوَلاَ يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ اللّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَوَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ
وَمِنْهُمْ أُمِّيُّونَ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ الْكِتَابَ إِلاَّأَمَانِيَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلاَّ يَظُنُّونَ
فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يَكْتُبُونَ الْكِتَابَ بِأَيْدِيهِمْثُمَّ يَقُولُونَ هَـذَا مِنْ عِندِ اللّهِ لِيَشْتَرُواْ بِهِ ثَمَناً قَلِيلاًفَوَيْلٌ لَّهُم مِّمَّا كَتَبَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَوَيْلٌ لَّهُمْ مِّمَّايَكْسِبُونَ
وَقَالُواْ لَن تَمَسَّنَا النَّارُ إِلاَّ أَيَّاماًمَّعْدُودَةً قُلْ أَتَّخَذْتُمْ عِندَ اللّهِ عَهْدًا فَلَن يُخْلِفَ اللّهُعَهْدَهُ أَمْ تَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللّهِ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ
بَلَى مَن كَسَبَ سَيِّئَةً وَأَحَاطَتْ بِهِ خَطِيـئَتُهُفَأُوْلَـئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّالِحَاتِ أُولَـئِكَأَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ لاَ تَعْبُدُونَإِلاَّ اللّهَ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَاناً وَذِي الْقُرْبَى وَالْيَتَامَىوَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَقُولُواْ لِلنَّاسِ حُسْناً وَأَقِيمُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتُواْالزَّكَاةَ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً مِّنكُمْ وَأَنتُم مِّعْرِضُونَ
وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ لاَ تَسْفِكُونَ دِمَاءكُمْوَلاَ تُخْرِجُونَ أَنفُسَكُم مِّن دِيَارِكُمْ ثُمَّ أَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَنتُمْتَشْهَدُونَ
ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ هَـؤُلاء تَقْتُلُونَ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَتُخْرِجُونَفَرِيقاً مِّنكُم مِّن دِيَارِهِمْ تَظَاهَرُونَ عَلَيْهِم بِالإِثْمِوَالْعُدْوَانِ وَإِن يَأتُوكُمْ أُسَارَى تُفَادُوهُمْ وَهُوَ مُحَرَّمٌ عَلَيْكُمْإِخْرَاجُهُمْ أَفَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِبَعْضِ الْكِتَابِ وَتَكْفُرُونَ بِبَعْضٍ فَمَاجَزَاء مَن يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ مِنكُمْ إِلاَّ خِزْيٌ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَاوَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُرَدُّونَ إِلَى أَشَدِّ الْعَذَابِ وَمَا اللّهُبِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
أُولَـئِكَ الَّذِينَ اشْتَرَوُاْ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَابِالآَخِرَةِ فَلاَ يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلاَ هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ وَقَفَّيْنَا مِنبَعْدِهِ بِالرُّسُلِ وَآتَيْنَا عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ الْبَيِّنَاتِ وَأَيَّدْنَاهُبِرُوحِ الْقُدُسِ أَفَكُلَّمَا جَاءكُمْ رَسُولٌ بِمَا لاَ تَهْوَى أَنفُسُكُمُاسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ فَفَرِيقاً كَذَّبْتُمْ وَفَرِيقاً تَقْتُلُونَ
وَقَالُواْ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفٌ بَل لَّعَنَهُمُ اللَّهبِكُفْرِهِمْ فَقَلِيلاً مَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
وَلَمَّا جَاءهُمْ كِتَابٌ مِّنْ عِندِ اللّهِ مُصَدِّقٌلِّمَا مَعَهُمْ وَكَانُواْ مِن قَبْلُ يَسْتَفْتِحُونَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْفَلَمَّا جَاءهُم مَّا عَرَفُواْ كَفَرُواْ بِهِ فَلَعْنَةُ اللَّه عَلَىالْكَافِرِينَ
بِئْسَمَا اشْتَرَوْاْ بِهِ أَنفُسَهُمْ أَن يَكْفُرُواْ بِمَاأنَزَلَ اللّهُ بَغْياً أَن يُنَزِّلُ اللّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِ عَلَى مَن يَشَاء مِنْعِبَادِهِ فَبَآؤُواْ بِغَضَبٍ عَلَى غَضَبٍ وَلِلْكَافِرِينَ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ آمِنُواْ بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ قَالُواْنُؤْمِنُ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَيَكْفُرونَ بِمَا وَرَاءهُ وَهُوَ الْحَقُّمُصَدِّقاً لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ قُلْ فَلِمَ تَقْتُلُونَ أَنبِيَاء اللّهِ مِن قَبْلُإِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
وَلَقَدْ جَاءكُم مُّوسَى بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ ثُمَّ اتَّخَذْتُمُالْعِجْلَ مِن بَعْدِهِ وَأَنتُمْ ظَالِمُونَ
وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُالطُّورَ خُذُواْ مَا آتَيْنَاكُم بِقُوَّةٍ وَاسْمَعُواْ قَالُواْ سَمِعْنَاوَعَصَيْنَا وَأُشْرِبُواْ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الْعِجْلَ بِكُفْرِهِمْ قُلْ بِئْسَمَايَأْمُرُكُمْ بِهِ إِيمَانُكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِينَ
قُلْ إِن كَانَتْ لَكُمُ الدَّارُ الآَخِرَةُ عِندَ اللّهِخَالِصَةً مِّن دُونِ النَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُاْ الْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
وَلَن يَتَمَنَّوْهُ أَبَدًا بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْوَاللّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالظَّالِمينَ
وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ أَحْرَصَ النَّاسِ عَلَى حَيَاةٍ وَمِنَالَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ وَمَاهُوَ بِمُزَحْزِحِهِ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ أَن يُعَمَّرَ وَاللّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِمَايَعْمَلُونَ
قُلْ مَن كَانَ عَدُوًّا لِّجِبْرِيلَ فَإِنَّهُ نَزَّلَهُعَلَى قَلْبِكَ بِإِذْنِ اللّهِ مُصَدِّقاً لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَهُدًىوَبُشْرَى لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
مَن كَانَ عَدُوًّا لِّلّهِ وَمَلآئِكَتِهِ وَرُسُلِهِوَجِبْرِيلَ وَمِيكَالَ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ عَدُوٌّ لِّلْكَافِرِينَ
وَلَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ آيَاتٍ بَيِّنَاتٍ وَمَايَكْفُرُ بِهَا إِلاَّ الْفَاسِقُونَ
أَوَكُلَّمَا عَاهَدُواْ عَهْداً نَّبَذَهُ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمبَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ
وَلَمَّا جَاءهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ عِندِ اللّهِ مُصَدِّقٌلِّمَا مَعَهُمْ نَبَذَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ الْكِتَابَ كِتَابَاللّهِ وَرَاء ظُهُورِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ
The explanation:
(Then, even after that, your hearts were hardened and became as rocks, or worse than rocks, for hardness. For indeed there are [some] rocks out of which rivers gush, and indeed there are [some] rocks which split asunder so that water flows from them. And there are [some] rocks which fall down for the fear of God. God is not unaware of [all] that you do.
Have you [believers] any hope that they [: Jews] may believe [and resign] to you when a party of them used to listen to the word of God, then used to pervert it knowingly, after having understood it?
And when they fall in with those who believe, they say: 'We believe.' But when they go apart one with another they say: 'Will you tell them about that which God has disclosed to you that they may contend withyou before your Lord concerning it? Have you [men] then no sense?'
Do they not then know that God knows [all] that they keep secret and [all] that they make known abroad?
And there are among them illiterates, who know not the book, but [hearsay and] desires, and they do nothing but conjecture.
Therefore, woe be to those who write the scripturewith their hands and say, "This is from God", that they may purchase a small gain therewith. Woe to them for that their hands have written, and woe to them for that they earn [thereby.]
And they say, 'The fire [of Hell] shall not touch us save for several days.' Say: 'Have you taken a covenant with God; for God breaks not His covenant? Or do you say of God that which you do not know?'
Not at all – but whosoever has done evil, and his sin has surrounded him; such are the fellows of the Fire; they will abide therein[forever.]
And those who believe and do good works: such are the people of the Garden. They will abide therein [forever.]
And remember We made a covenant with the Children of Israel, [saying]: 'Worship none save God [only], and be good to parents and to kindred and to orphans and the needy, and speak kindly to people; and be steadfast in prayer and pay the Zakat.' Then, after that, you slid back in aversion, save a few of you.
And remember We made with you a covenant [saying]:Shed not the blood of you[r people] nor turn [a party of] your people out of your dwellings. Then you ratified [the covenant] and you [contemporary Jews] admit that.
Yet you slay each other and drive a party of your people out of their homes, supporting one another against them by sin and transgression – and if they come to you as captives you will ransom them, whereas their expulsion is itself unlawful for you – Do you then believe in part of the Book and disbelieve in part? But the reward, of such among you as do that, shall be nothing other than disgrace in this Worldly life, and on the Day of Judgment shall they be driven to the most grievous punishment; for God is not unaware of what you do.
Such are those who exchange the Afterlife by the life of this World. Their torment will not be lightened, neither will they be helped.
Surely, We gave to Moses the Scripture, and We caused a succession of apostles [i.e. messengers] to follow after him, and We gave to Jesus, the son of Mary, the evident signs, and aided him with the Holy Ghost. Is it then that whenever an apostle comes to you with what yourselves desire not, you are puffed up with pride? – some you called impostors, and others you slay!
And they say: "Our hearts are enveloped." Not so, but God has cursed them for their blasphemy, and few [of them] it is who do believe.
And when there came to them a Scripture from God, confirming [the Scripture] that they already have – although aforetime they were foretelling to those who disbelieve, - when there comes to them [the messenger] that they have recognized, they deny him; so God's curse be on deniers.
For a bad bargain have they sold their souls; that they, with insolent envy, deny the [revelation] that God has sent down; because God – with His bounty – should send down [the revelation] upon any of His servants He pleases; so they return [to Us after their death] incurring wrath after wrath; and for deniers there will be shameful woe.
And when it is said to them [:Jews]:'Believe in [theQuran] that God has revealed', they say: 'We believe [exclusively] in [the Law and the Scripture] that was revealed to us.' And they disbelieve in [the Gospel and the Quran] that came after it, though it is the truth confirming [the Law] that they already have. Say [to them, O Mohammed]: 'Why then did you slay the prophets of God aforetime, if you are [indeed] believers?'
Moses did come to you with the evident [signs]; yet you worshipped the calf after his [going to the Mount], and you were wrongdoers [of yourselves.]
And remember [O Children of Israel], We make acovenant with you, and caused the Mount [Sinai] to tower above you, [saying]:'Hold fast that which We have given you, and hearken.' They said: 'We hear and we disobey.' And [the love of] the calf was effusive into [the pericardia of] their hearts; because of their infidelity. Say [O Mohammed, to them:] 'An evil belief is that which enjoins on you [such conduct] if [indeed] you are true believers [as you claim.]'
Say: 'If the abode of the Afterlife, in the neighborhood of God, be special for you [Jews] but not for the [rest of] people [who are Muslims], then long for death [to go to Paradise and prosper there] if you are truthful [in your claim.]
But they will never long for death, on account of the [sins] which their hands have forwarded. And God is Well-Acquainted with the wrong-doers.
You will find them the greediest of [all] people [of the heavenly religions] for life; and [even greedier] than those who associate [others with God]; one of them would fain live for a thousand years, - but he will not be turned forcibly away from punishment by being let live, for God is All-Seeing what they do.
Say, 'Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel? For he has come down with it upon your heart, with God's permission, believing in that which is by his hands, and a guidance and glad tidings to believers.
Whoever is an enemy to God and His angels and His apostles and Gabriel and Michael – then, surely, God is an enemy to the unbelievers.
We have sent down to you [Mohammed] manifest signs, and none will disbelieve therein except the evildoers.
Is it not [the case] that every time they make a covenant, some party among them discard it? – But, indeed, most of them believe not.
And when [Mohammed, who is] an apostle from God has come to them, confirming what they have, a party of those who were given the Scripture have rejected the Scripture of God [leaving it] behind their backs as if [it had been something] they did not know!)
