If Canucks or American don't want these jobs Mexicans or billions of to others from around the world will gladly take them.

When I was a kid in high school a job like this one pumping gas was rare and there was 200 people with families to compete with to try and get one and no way a kid or immigrant t would have been part of the picture.

I thought I heard on the news this evening that the issue was settled ... is it now not settled again?

How did this problem get so serious without someone doing something long before it got to this point ... that's what I can't figure out. Were they all out golfing and playing war games while the country went down the tubes or what?

Where the hell are they going to come up with a Quadrilion?

Hard to wrap the brain around that kind of number. Even magic won't help. at the rate this is going.

It has been serious for quite some time. .....but has not gotten the media attention until one impasse followed another. Plus they have not been as transparent /honest with the population ......allowing crap news take center stage until it has reached the current crisis.

Sound economics has been a foreign language for some time. THey are finding out that the money tree is closed for business ..

and yes, their war games took over and are out of control now too. THey have lost contact with reality some time ago when it comes to endless funds for their war machine. Now.....the crunch is on, the stakes are big and we have children pretending to "debate" this critical issue , not having a clue as to what they are doing.

We need people, people need jobs. The door is open for those who want out.

thanks for posting the job info. And yes......People need jobs ...

Most people are assuming that the people in the US are responsible enough to sort this out ... but it's taking a lot longer than it should. It's critical that there is a solution really soon. What is the biggest problem in coming up with a solution, aside from everyone stomping their feet and wanting to have things their way. Seriously, there has to be a solution and everyone has to compromise ... no one gets to have it all their way anymore.

Maybe Canada needs to annex the US and sort out the problems. First order on the books ... give all the illegal aliens legal papers. Second order, fire all the politicians. Third, tax the rich. Fourth, maintain programs for the poor.

of course , you are right. and of course there is a solution..........but until the ones handling this mature enough to realize that they must re evaluate their priorities , ( where to spend and where to pull back. , bring the wars that have hemmorhaged the funds to a close , and learn to compromize.

.....this is a despicable example of your garden variety power struggle .......and neither group is prepared to give ..as if they are detached completely from the stakes involved.

Can you imagine the New Yorkers trading in loonies? It might lighten everyone up a bit to think of money as loonies and twoonies.

It certainly looks like a playground spat where no one is willing to move the goal posts so everyone can win. At this time, no one can win and everyone is afraid. Maybe civil war is needed?

First we have Bush and his imaginery WMD and now this. How can anyone take the US seriously in the future?

That might be part of the solution, Congress can mint coins that aren't Fed Reserve Notes and would be interest free.
