From CNN breaking news mailing:

Standard & Poors says it could downgrade the U.S. credit rating in the next three months over the debt-ceiling impasse.

The credit rating agency said in a statement Thursday it was placing the United States' sovereign rating on "CreditWatch with negative implications."

"There is at least a one-in-two likelihood that we could lower the long-term rating on the U.S. within the next 90 days," the agency said

How exactly does this mesh with the greed that your proclaimed "US greed wars" are all about.

Now you're talking...LOL.
I always was. This would probably go a lot easier on you if you attempted to keep a little better.

& BYOB ( learn a little French and Chinese before embarking)

And what will "we" as a populous have learned from nearly falling over the edge. (IF the scenario you descibe comes into reality)?

Or will we continue to live near the edge until the next crisis??? ( or will we just hope we are dead and gone before the next Economic / financial tsunami hits??)

We all just live from crisis to crisis. This is nothing new, been happening every so often and we always come out of it stronger than we went in. "To Big to Fail", especially this time. The party's may change, but the players are always the same.

Why should they learn Chinese?

You do realize, there's a more to Canada than just Hongcouver Japanada don't you?

Although given your limited knowledge of history, global issues and this continent in general, that question is more rhetorical than anything else.

How many HongKouverongs and Japanadites are there in our continent of peaceful United Statians and Canadiennes?

Shouldn't everyone learn French ... like stewardesses and Ottawanians.

A VERY SMART MAN....

Warren Buffet July 8, 2011:

"I could end the deficit in 5 minutes.
You just pass a law that says that anytime

there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP

all sitting members of congress are ineligible

for re-election."

Doesn't make sense if the sitting members are not the responsible party.

Appearently, not so smart. Should have included Presidents, mainly FDR.

Besides, what in the Hell is preventing Buffet (as in take all you want, pig out, gorge) not to give all his ill-gotten goods to the socially deprived?

No more blame game, just if it happens under your watch you are out. Blame game is for kids.

Makes sense. The guy that came after Hitler should have gotten the boot for Germany's economic disparity after WW2.

Marshall plan took care of that problem. The German government was very closely controlled. If the Democratic (so called compromise) goes through, they want the budget to carry into 2013, when things supposedly will be better. The Republicans on the other hand want the debt to end around June 2012 so they can take advantage of the situation. Yes it does make a lot of sense.

Congress is at a stalemate over raising the federal debt ceiling, and Americans need to pressure their elected representatives to work out a compromise that will avoid a potentially devastating default, President Barack Obama told the nation.

In his seventh prime time televised address, Obama sought to increase pressure for congressional leaders to reach a deal on a "balanced approach" that would allow the government to continue borrowing money pay its debts after August 2.

The president singled out House Republicans for intransigence and said the political showdown is "no way to run the greatest country on Earth."

In his response, House Speaker John Boehner said the president's proposals fail to deal with the fundamental problem: that the nation spends more than it takes in.

"The sad truth is that the president wanted a blank check six months ago, and he wants a blank check today," Boehner said. "That is just not going to happen."

and the power struggle contines with egos being more important than the job at hand............where do the american people come in ..in all this?? Where are those problem solving tactics so badly needed at the moment? we are seeing the underbelly of a very immature country that is in complete denial of its critical situation and finding out that the usual bandaide treatment doesn't work.

We just wait on the sidelines to see who we will vote for President in 2012. Nothing much we can do till then. Both sides are being complete brainless idiots about it.
