I've said it before and I'll say it again, Harper is a dangerous man and we will regret giving him a majority. I stand with Nuggler on this one, 100%.
So you believe he's building prisons for people who disagree with him?
Good lord, the people of the Arab world dream of the very type of society the once-publicly funded DePape finds so repugnant.
So she is ungrateful and ungracious. And it took only hours for the obese Yankee imperialist Michael Moore to offer her a job. Let’s hope it doesn’t involve going out to get the man’s Big Macs — the girl will be run off her feet!
On the other hand is Linda Gibbons, a much older woman than “you know, like, whatever, climate change and stuff” girl.
Gibbons has now spent more than eight years in prison because she dares to walk quietly and gently outside our tax-supported abortion clinics. She never raises her voice, has never used violence, never even tries to touch anybody going into these macabre centres to abort their babies.
Oooooooooooh do I detect Chicken Little?

A tale of two protesters....oughta drive the lefties crazy.........
What I'd like to know is how. Was it all the references to drinking?
.
this poor woman. Octogenarian, a grandmother, lived through the darkest days of the 20th century in the uk - the depression, the rise of fascism, the blitz, the cold war, irish republican terrorism, mau mau, duran duran -.
Sounds like it's working on the righties....
Why would that drive anyone crazy?
He's just stating his opinion.
(sigh)
Trying to reconcile their defense of DePape with their condemnation of Gibbons.....
True.... I just can't be bothered with a long post for folk who pick out trigger words to build a misquote around. You mean those people that refer to themselves as righties? lol
Why would the same person defending DePape, condemn Gibbons?
They're both protestors.
They both have the freedom to protest peacefully.
No they don't. Read about Gibbons, then come back with a reasoned response.
You can support both Gibbons and DePape's right to peaceful protest. There's no conflict.
I mean don't get me wrong. I don't agree with the pro-life argument, but you do have the right to peacefully protest.
Ahhh....now that is a rational response.
So I guess you are outraged at the fact Gibbons has spent years in jail for exercising her right to free speech.......
Yes???
Gibbons is allowed her free speech the same as anyone else. Gibbons problem is she kept operating within the restricted zone. How many times was DePape warned not to stop Harper?

Naw, nothing so obvious...........
Although stereotypical Irish traits........you display a definite gift as a wordsmith, a touch of the blarney, as they say.......
And the booze.
And, more than anything, your failure to be swayed from your wicked republican ways by the beauty of my logic and the overwhelming clarity and rightness of my position. With you republicanism is not a reaction to fuddy-duddy ceremony or the remnants of the English class system.......with you it is the accepted norm, .......an accepted universal truth....exactly as monarchy is with me.
You have breathed republicanism like you have breathed air.........whether you know it or not. Even the Americans, despite their revolution, are victim to the romanticism of the English monarchy.....only the Irish have that internal reflex that rejects the institution with such vehemence......polite or not.
We are all in large part what we came from........

I don't know the full extent of her type of protestation. If she was simply holding up a sign and they threw her in jail for that, then yes, it's just as wrong as last year's G8/G20 rampage by our "lawful" protection agency.
Ah. I had a feeling the story was a bit more complicated. Now, I don't know if that warrants jail time, but I'm sure there will be even more to this story than what Colpy and the Sun lead on.
Also, DePape accepted the consequences of her actions. She knew she would get thrown out, so the transaction was complete.
The only argument that the detractors have left is - 'well could you imagine what she had under her skirt instead of a protest sign?' ALARMA!!!
Guy writes like an average forum poster. If I paid for a copy of that Toronto Sun, I'd feel ripped off. Here I am slaving away at a real job when I could just copy-paste what I write here, send it to the Sun and get published! Damnit.
.
Nice side step....
