Brilliant! I want to father her children.
Stopping Harper would be saving democracy. She is right to fear that schmuck.
He may be a scmuck, but what she did did nothing to further her cause. In fact, it will likely turn more people against her. She likely even hurt her cause with such a stunt.
Since when does a majority-dictatorship chosen by a minority of the people represent democracy?
In each riding , the plurality wins. Now I could agree with removing party names from ballots to make it clearer, but that's a separate matter.
When 40% of the people are so satisfied with the way our gov't works that they don't bother to go to the polls.......
And yes, that includes the whiny idiots that say "oh, they're all the same...." whic is the lamest excuse for self-satisfied intellectual and physical laziness that I have ever heard......
I agree. I may not have checked my ballot for lack of a decent candidate, but at least I did read up on each candidate, even visited their campaign offices, and asked questions, and finally did at least show up at the poll and handed in a ballot, as blank as it may have been.
The girl is a radical activist, which is fine. In fact, it is indicative of the freedom in our system that she was allowed to work as a Page despite her anti-gov't views and actions. But she pushed it way too hard when she betrayed the trust shown her by using her access to defile and disrupt a ceremony that is definitive in our democracy. Thus the title "twit" is well earned. Perhaps, with time, she'll grow up.
Agreed. We should never start questioning a future page's political leanings. Anarchist, communist, whatever, that's entirely her business. However, during the employ of the government, she is expected to be non-partisan. Granted MPs don't set much of an example for her either to be fair, and in her defense, after a year, who knows, maybe she'd just taken after the MPs.
But I'll also grant her this, that she is young and so might very well change her ways. We did the right thing to fire her, but would also do the right thing to give her a second chance in her future life.
Now as for finding her in contempt of Parliament, I seem to remember a current majority government that was also found in Contempt. Seems to bring dividends, don't it.
