How do you know you were wanted?
I think the fact I wasn't aborted is solid evidence.
How do you know you were wanted?
It's not the crapshot that has me on the fence. It's getting attach to kids and having to let go when it time for them to return to their parents or other family members.
Thanks Yukon Jack. I'm really looking forward to being a grandparent and yes that was FUNNY.
I've spent my day reflecting on moments like that with my daughter.
If a child can't inspire someone to be a better person or work harder then nothing will.
The reasons are indeed strictly selfish and nothing more. We have friends that are just having kid's now in their late 30's and early 40's. When I tell them that their entire train of thought and focus of goals in life will take a complete turn they laugh and insist they won't be any different. When the baby does come along they all admit that no other experience in life has matched that of seeing their baby for the first time and that they see the world entirely different. They are also the ones who become over protective and cover the entire house in foam rubber. Those who promote abortion will NEVER have the pleasure and joy that we have through our children and ESPECIALLY our grandchildren.
Let them be selfish and comfortable. As the old saying goes, differently applied: No pain, no gain. My children and grandchildren will be there to look after me and comfort me when I am old and need it.
Of course, they will (maybe) have the government.
Depending on the age of the child I guess it wouldn't be much different than my kid sister in-law who spent what seems like the majority of her adolescent and teen years flopped out on the sofa in my den.You have to enter with the mentality that it is temporary. We actually consider our greatest success to be putting a runaway back with her family and things working out for them. That doesn't have to mean you can't remain in their lives as extended family or friend. We have remained her second parents and are friends with her real parents. We all attended her grad together and she has chosen to attend college near us which made it easier on her parents who live several hundred miles away. The point of fostering is quite different from adoption, you try to make as much positive difference as you can in the time you have, sometimes you win with a long-term relationship with them, sometimes you win by sending them back home to a better, stable, more functional family.

A deficit of newborns yes, but a large amount of children over 2-3 years old and an even larger amount of children over 6. Maybe those wanting to adopt should be more willing to take on a child other than a baby.
Why is it that when someone from the left disagrees with the right wing view they automatically have a low IQ? I don't seem to see this same kind of bashing the intellect of the right from those on the left.
Whereas I see the ones with existing problems as the ones who need us the most. That would be nice and luckily there are some who do. However I can see the other side of the coin, that is people who want to have a hand in shaping their children in the formative years and wanting to avoid adopting a child where problems have already developed.
Gotcha. ;-)Two things Nick, my post was a little "tongue in cheek", I don't judge you as having a low I.Q. Second I'm not any "wing" politically, as a matter of fact I'm not political. Both sides do things wrong and once in a blue moon do things right, I just like doing things in a way that will work.

She had the right to choose before she spread her legs.
I'm pro-life, but le'ts show some tact here, shall we. Remember that not all sex is consentual.
Just a question about our own bodies. Let's supose I was born attached to another person, with us sharing certain body parts. i decide to kill the other person so I can have most of the body. Is it murder?

Pro-Choice is the sane opinion
No, it's the legally viable choice. The sane choice would be personal accountability and responsibility.Pro-Choice is the sane opinion
Really, murder is a sane decision. Well, in that case, I would prefer to be known as insane.

It's not murder
Please correct me if I am wrong but were you not just recently supporting the murder of Bin-laden?

What has to recognized is that there are so many different views on when an fertilized egg becomes a human being that vary from the instant of conception right up to the instant of birth and many varying degrees in between. Given this it will never be possible to enact any law other than the right to choose as an individual so arguing about what is right or wrong is a waste of everyone's time.
I believe George Carlin said it best about these "pro-lifers" hahaha!
