Abortion demonstration just doesn't sound right.

You have to enter with the mentality that it is temporary. We actually consider our greatest success to be putting a runaway back with her family and things working out for them. That doesn't have to mean you can't remain in their lives as extended family or friend. We have remained her second parents and are friends with her real parents. We all attended her grad together and she has chosen to attend college near us which made it easier on her parents who live several hundred miles away. The point of fostering is quite different from adoption, you try to make as much positive difference as you can in the time you have, sometimes you win with a long-term relationship with them, sometimes you win by sending them back home to a better, stable, more functional family.
petros, by the time you reach my age and your children have reached theirs, you will have forgotten the daily struggle and you will look at your children (in my case, my daughter) with admiration and say: How can they do it? How can they have the strength?
Forgetting, of course, that you/we have been there, done that.
But everything is nicer and seems easier through the lenses of experience.
Like I said, let the abortion promoters revel in their temporary, pathetic, pitiful and empty existence. We know better.
The reasons are indeed strictly selfish and nothing more. We have friends that are just having kid's now in their late 30's and early 40's. When I tell them that their entire train of thought and focus of goals in life will take a complete turn they laugh and insist they won't be any different. When the baby does come along they all admit that no other experience in life has matched that of seeing their baby for the first time and that they see the world entirely different. They are also the ones who become over protective and cover the entire house in foam rubber.
Depending on the age of the child I guess it wouldn't be much different than my kid sister in-law who spent what seems like the majority of her adolescent and teen years flopped out on the sofa in my den.
Yes, and I saw once my four year old grand-daughter show her mom how to open a child safe latch on a kitchen drawer, that my son had installed the previous evening;-)
That would be nice and luckily there are some who do. However I can see the other side of the coin, that is people who want to have a hand in shaping their children in the formative years and wanting to avoid adopting a child where problems have already developed. :smile:
Two things Nick, my post was a little "tongue in cheek", I don't judge you as having a low I.Q. Second I'm not any "wing" politically, as a matter of fact I'm not political. Both sides do things wrong and once in a blue moon do things right, I just like doing things in a way that will work. :smile:
You're right Nick and my heart bleeds for them. But it takes special types of people sometimes or they just end up destroying an otherwise well adjusted family.

Just a question about our own bodies. Let's supose I was born attached to another person, with us sharing certain body parts. i decide to kill the other person so I can have most of the body. Is it murder?

No, it's the legally viable choice. The sane choice would be personal accountability and responsibility.

What has to recognized is that there are so many different views on when an fertilized egg becomes a human being that vary from the instant of conception right up to the instant of birth and many varying degrees in between. Given this it will never be possible to enact any law other than the right to choose as an individual so arguing about what is right or wrong is a waste of everyone's time.
Some would suggest that "pro choice" is sitting on the fence and I wouldn't disagree with them. :smile:
Legally no, but morally, possibly yes. In cases where the mother's health is at risk it could be ruled "self defense".
