We have been using OBL since august 2010 using what information we gained to plan and prevent al-Qaeda and others he was involved with from committing terrorist acts througout the world. (is what I said true, probably). We got what we wanted and ended the relationship. Is it over and we pack up and go home? Not yet.

It's a Good thing that only few follow such Extremists, like The late Osama ..Hopefully they'll all blow themselves up (with no innocent casualties) . Until there are too Few left, worth Following...

Bad example. The Nazis and Soviets posed a legitimate threat to us on a National scale.

How so?

The Nazi's did not declare war on England and France. The Anglo-Allies declared war on them first. The Soviets never attacked us either.

So why did we fight?

Just trying to make a point here.

Terrorists can only really harm us on a much smaller, regional basis. If anything we need to send in rogues or small operations to handle them - not large scale military.

Bid Laden's death seems to be exactly that kind of operation - and that's the one that got us 'mission accomplished'.

We lost about 1,400 at Pearl Harbor. We lost 3,000 on 9/11. Was Pearl Harbor a smaller scale and we should have sent Navy UDT teams to get Hirohito instead of going to war?

Bad example? Hardly!

With the Nazis and Communists it was clear that they wore a uniform, which clearly identified them as enemies. With Muslims, it could be your neighbour, your friend and/or even your spouse or your child or any relative.

If you choose to be blind, it's your choice.

BTW, the matter of uniform: The Geneva Convention does not apply to civilians, no matter how you and your miserable ilk would like to twist history.

ALL THE MUSLIM TERRORISTS WERE CIVILIANS, HERE AND ABROAD.

Well, you have to look at the probable outcome of all of these situations had we not intervened.

Had World War II not happened, Nazis would have continued a mass scale extermination as well as military occupation on 'civilized nations'. You could say the same thing about the Soviets with their legitimate nuclear threat. Japan's intervention could have also been a catalyst for even larger consequences to us in the near future.

Terrorists don't pose nearly the same threat. And we won't truly respond in some grand fashion unless they come from the middle east. It's just the usual military-industrial train moving forward because they occupy very fertile lands.

If we somehow had a terrorist from, Congo, let's just say, who did the same thing that the 9/11 attackers did, we wouldn't send out the troops as there is no oil there. Or we would, but would find an excuse to attack nearby fertile territory as well like we did with the Iraq/Afghanistan.

You should know pretty well by now, that our interventions are not truly for altruistic means, but instead, as an opportunity to collect resources.

Yeah and look how awesome Iraq is doing now....

biggest ****ing disaster of a country, these monkey yanks are worse than saddam was...

We are not suppose to exercise quite so much objective examination of the facts, except while closeted. Of course we can verify ( certify, carry away in a box), your idea of who's the most terrifying pretty easy I think. Bullet for bullet there is no contest Saddam was a saint. Monkeys got feelings I expect you to apologize to our hairy cousins.

I don't understand all this controversy with the Pakistanis.
The US secret service was watching OBL compound for 6 mos plus, surly they would have had listening devices etc etc.
Plus, now the US has all this computer info from his compound, you would think with all this info, they would know EXACTLY if and how the Pakistanis were involved!!

Am I missing something here??
CNN never seems to ask the right questions, maybe that's how stay in business??

I don't understand why they needed some Navy Seal operation to get computer discs and drives that were put there by CIA operatives to begin with.

the only battle fought against the soviets was an economic one. America created huge stockpiles of weapons to force the USSR to blow their budget in the same way. America supported the Mujahadeen for 10 years in order to bankrupt the USSR. And it worked.

funny you bring up these 2 events together, they are very similar in that there was credible evidence of the events know to US govt and military prior to both happening that was ignored or not acted upon. Seems your govt doesn't have a problem with letting a few civilians die if it furthers their own ends.

No more of a conspiracy nut than you, big difference is I am willing to explore many options and opinions whereas you will only believe what is spoon-fed to you by the government without question.

Hatred and Jealousy? More like compassion and pity!

He's the Canadian version of a truther, no reasoning with them.

You seem to think from your tone that seeking the real truth is bad thing. I would say that blind faith in govt and its propaganda is far worse than questioning them and asking for hard evidence and proof.

No, really... you're a conspiracy nut. Face it... Alex Jones! Alex Jones makes a living out of the weak minded.

You're no different than the right wing militia types that think the government is going to form a police state.

Oh wait... you already said that is what they are doing. Nevermind. :)

I can't beleive that this guy made it to the rank of Captain in the Canadian armed forces....something just doesn't compute:lol:

I don't believe that for a moment. Canada's Forces would never put this guy in charge of a latrine.

You won't find the truth digging around in your arsehole.

Really? I assume he was dishonorably discharged for mental competency issues.

Have to end the mission somehow when they have all they need OBL. They know how the Pakistanis were involved, but they have to give them a way out, or confront them now.

I don't look in my arsehole, you have some delusion that the truth comes from arseholes? Oh wait...you believe whatever the govt spews so you do believe the truth comes from arseholes.

Dude, you're the one not backing any of the stuff you say up with anything. I've blown what you claim out of the water and so have a few people here. You need to step up and show your work or you're going to find it a rough ride here.
