While you have a perfect right to that OPINION, the relatives of the 2800 dead, may have a different opinion which I'd be more inclined to respect. Personally I don't put him in the same class of warrior as someone like Napolean or Alexander the Great.

According to everything we keep being told he fought for his cause and against what he saw as injustice with the means he had available. Napolean and Alexander were colonial imperialists bent on global domination (kind of like the US) so they would be in a different category.

Yeah, it's quite noble to fight against injustice by killing 2800 innocent people!

As opposed to the millions the US have killed in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Lybia and various other places. Holding 2800 lives above all the rest because it happened in america is BS. If the adage about reaping what you sow was really true there would be a whole lot more dead yankees right now.

Are you really so caught up in celebrating death and the degradation of a corpse that you fail to realize how much of a catalyst this will be in the radical and fundemental muslim population? You just keep on proving yourself as without honor or intelligence don't you?

Exactly!! And the radical and fundemental muslim population had just come out of a meeting where they had voted unanimously to put down thier warrior ways and negotiate a fair and lasting peace with the west.

Snap! We blew it!

Yeah, it's just too bad their definition of fair is different than ours.
We should use their definition, in their countries, we respect their laws and customs.
Now all we have to add is, the same difinition applies to our country which also includes customs.

You're a complete f*cking idiot if you think that our freedoms in Canada are somehow granted by the US. We are one of the most respected nations in the world based on our own merits. I can still travel almost anywhere in the world without fear just with the proof I am Canadian. If you love the US so much the border is south of here, go cross it.

Here you go again, using your freedom and making stupid statements.

Canada could never defend itself, even against a regime as Alquada!

We have a pretty good military considering our population and could defend ourselves if necessary, the greatest part of Canda though is that we don't need to defend ourselves as we don't make any enemies. I can count the number of nations that are against Canada on less than 1 finger.

Like I said, head south from here and go join your war-mongering, imperialistic idols. Canada will be that much greater without the likes of you.

I don't think I would be too far off the mark if I made the assumption that you are a young and idealistic socialist and a great admirer of Mao, Che, Ahmedinejad and Stalin.

Take solace and comfort in the knowledge that that soft spot on the top of your head eventually will be hard, at which time you will realize that the millions that the above-mentioned worthies murdered are no more or less dead and deserving sympathy than the thousands that Americans are responsible for.

And at that time you may be able answer, with a modicum of honesty who would you rather have as a neighbour: China, Iran and Russia or America.

Right, guy. I'm all for criticizing the U.S. for launching wars and killing people, but you're kind of changing the subject. The post you are responding to is a criticism of you praising bin Laden. Despite all the bluster in the last day or so about bin Laden being killed, I don't think many people are actually being praiseworthy of the U.S. in the way you were being praiseworthy of bin Laden, so drawing some kind of equivalency didn't make sense in the context.

Wrong....I am late-forties and hold none of those as idols. I have seen the horrors and atrocities of war up-close and personal during my time in Bosnia and am far more libertarian than socialist. Go ahead and try to pigeonhole anyone with a different opinion if you like but mine is derived from much life experience, education and traveling around the planet getting to know different cultures and peoples.

Take solace and comfort in the knowledge that that soft spot on the top of your head eventually will be hard, at which time you will realize that the millions that the above-mentioned worthies murdered are no more or less dead and deserving sympathy than the thousands that Americans are responsible for.
Soft spot...LOL, yours has obviously re-formed in your old age. Many atrocities commited by many people in order to gain power and conquest over others not the least of which is the US.

And at that time you may be able answer, with a modicum of honesty who would you rather have as a neighbour: China, Iran and Russia or America.
Nut-jobs, power-hungry leaders and radicals in all of them. I live my life as I live it without any regard for who my neighbor may be and will not compromise my morals for any of them.

You seem to misunderstand, I do not praise OBL just as I do not praise the US. He would certainly have garnered much more global support if he took the route of Ghandi and used peaceful resistance.

I think it is the height of hypocrisy to condemn him for what he believes is defending himself and his people against imperialistic forces while commiting mass murders in the name of imperialistic democracy. Lets be real here, US foriegn policy based upon global domination and installing their brand of democracy on the entire planet is the root cause of 9/11. If the US had returned to its isolationist ways after WW2 9/11 would have never happened.

Not even after we spend $60 Billion plus on stealth fighters? Then what's the point buying them? I'd have thought $65B would buy us some ability to defend ourselves...

I stand corrected then. You didn't praise OBL.

If OBL actually was just defending himself and his people in a legitimate fashion, I'd agree with you. But, of course, OBL wasn't doing that. He was, you know, ordering bombings of U.S. embassies and hijackings of commercial airliners.

Well you have to carry your weight as well. If they help you, you have to help them in return.

Strange that you don't understand some of these simple principles of cooperation. Well, maybe your an immigrant from a third world country who expects everybody to bend over backwards for you and you offer nothing in return,,,,eh!!
