You forgot the part about how me and a few of my buddies are going to kick the crap out of you and use you for sex every few days. Most of us have HIV and HepC but that doesn't matter to you does it sweetheart?

Oh and the bed isn't quite the one you're picturing out of Pier One. The three square meals is also made by us and though you might not know it, we aren't as passionate about cooking as they are on the food channel. Of course privatizing the prisons will open this area up for cost cutting which will be a bid deal when it becomes a profit making system.

Though I know you gals love laundry time, it's not what it's cracked up to be when laundry time is isn't 25 minutes of gathering and loading the washer then coffee time. But we do make $6.90 a day if we work for it, doing laundry and cooking. There is a store where we can buy things like tooth paste, deodorant, pain relief and so on, but the canteen basket costs $61.59.

There isn't so much tennis, golf, and BBQ on the beach as there is avoiding the rapists, psycho violent offenders and the gangs who either want to affiliate you or make it so you can't join some other gang. That makes for a full day. Not so many trips to the gym and day spa any more either which is pretty rough on the girls. You know how they like to keep looking good.

This year the goal is to drop the murder rate in prison down below 180. That's a tough mark to hit but we're trying. Seems there is a bit of tension between these baby criminals and the hardcore lifers. Not enough bitches to go around I expect and you know what they say about a 300 pound mad man whose affections have been spurned.

Well gotta run, looks like someone's ripping off my shampoo again and I gots to step up you know?

Wish you were here.

Wow, someone p on your cornflakes today? An opinion is just that. As for A holes and opinions. Obviously...ummm have touched a nerve? I already served time with a prickof an x alcoholic cop. That one was a real piece of work. I skipped the intro part of the forum Hi my name is for that reason being. No tv here either sunshine can't afford one. This is it. The only luxury I consider doing. Mostly educational documentary type if any. Keep the brain busy. This is a first going on here. Then I find I check in on here and read. I could not read last year. I could not move. I could not fold laundry. I have started to this year doing more. I could not use a can opener. I could not open a jar let alone hold one in my hand for long for pain. I could not exist myself. You know I have never smoked touched drugs lived a clean healthy life. Was a workaholic doing everything for the family. Now no I do not shop. umm peir one what is that? Shop but for food. I did order two books to put away for next Christmas though. So I would have that put away while I could afford it. I do not go out. Most of the time. See I have been given a disability by another person so I spent one year in bed pretty much un able to move my spine could not have water touch my skin. It felt like fire being poured onto my skin unimaginable. Ever have a sunburn from the inside? Nerve damage all over.So you have some damaged nerves. You poured that cup well. So everyone has a sad story to tell. Enlighten, you started a story with the inside edition. I shook my head literally and do you need a coach to help with insults?
Thats the best insult you could come up with was to mention sex and call someone sweetheart? My god that was lame you need a mother to tell you that? But thankyou for the educational part of your opinion. Does not sound like you have buddies if you have to rant on here about it. Here I thought the Unforgiven may have been a cliche from an Eastwood movie. So I leave you with this I am no sweetheart. I know better. If someone tends to p on my cornflakes be polite to a point I learned. It makes for your story all the more worth wanting to hear more of. I am self learning on how to deal and heal nerve damage. You do have nerve if not for lack of shampoo.

Just the reduction in recidivism alone pays for all the education that a rehabilitated convict gets.
This seems to be a fundamental difference in left and right leaning people. The further right you go, the more people want to punish people, the further left, the more people want to rehabilitate people.

Consider for yourself, is it easier to show you in a well reasoned argument what it is you have done wrong and shown a better way that avoids those problems, or to hurt you enough that you are afraid to do it again?

Some people can't be rehabilitated. I would say that serial killers, pedophiles fit into this group. I mean, could I change your sexual orientation by putting you in jail for a while and threatening you? I wouldn't want them tortured or harmed, though vengeance seems such an easy position to take. Rather, I would want them to be removed from society for good, and placed where they can have some sort of meaningful life away from those they would harm if they could.

In this way, they are easier to manage which makes those who work with them on a day to day basis, job easier and less of a chance that they will risk it all to escape. Removing all the temptation helps to keep them out of trouble when they can't resist their urges themselves.

Killing someone doesn't allow for mistakes. Using Milgard, Marshall and others as examples, show that mistakes can be made and drawn out for more years than it takes to process someone for the needle. I would rather err on the side of safety and lock them up for ever than to kill an innocent person.
err on the side of safety. Innocent 18 Gone.

You're wrong. The further left, the more people want to criminalise law abiding gun owners,

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Take you for example, your only interest in recidivism is to see the convicts come out and kill more people so you can further your cause against duck hunters and farmers.

That's because you're an idiot that can't manage a thought of your own. lol
That you couldn't put together even a simple refutation of what I posted, is confirmation of your short bus status.

Not just unions. No worker would like to see his livelihood undercut by the equivalent of slave labour. Of course, there are those who think a low wage economy is the way to go.

Low wages are the way to go as long as it is the other guy that's getting the low wage. I need my wage. He doesn't.

Wait a minute, do you want inmates getting free education or not? One minute it's lounging around doin' all that book lernin' and the next it's no free education. Which is it going to be? So what do you do, incidentally when the prisoner you tell to go work all day tells you to **** off and rolls over in his bunk?

Tell that to the horse.

Now it's all these dangerous offenders needing to have their self esteem boosted? Can you pick a position and stick with it at least for the thread?

Well if the devil is making them do it, shouldn't they be given an exorcism instead of all this jail time and education?

My cousin used to work the land on my uncle's farm. I went to his wedding and he once saved me from angry pigs. Isn't that an odd connection to this thread?
LOL! Are ;you being deliberately obtuse or are you just trying to be funny?

Unfortunately, we have been taught of the value of a human life by others who were in turn taught the same thing and so on and so on...
Yet humans value the life of other animals so much less. A tiger or even a dog kills or even hurts a human and we "put it down". Why? Because once an animal has the taste of human blood, it may (not always), prey on humans again.

Question:
Are human beings not animals? Should we not then "put down" those human animals that have a taste for blood?
As for cost; Use a knife, cut the throat. Cheap, quick, painless, efficient.

Human beings have to get off of the high horse of the value of a human life. Why is it SOOOO much more then any other life form?

People make choice, even bad ones. It is time for the people of this planet to start taking responsibility for those actions, and stop blaming others. ie my parents abused me, i had a tough upbringing, the world hates me, people at school tease me, etc....

Enough is Enough

You make no sense.

1.) If the murder is done, it's done. You can't change that - whether you kill the killer or not.
2.) There's no way in hell that slicing the throat is quick, painless or efficient.

How do I make no sense?

And how is a cut throat not quick, easy, painless, and efficient

We could do so many people in one day, use the same knife over and over again, and the person dies in seconds when the cut is deep enough... or go back to the guillotine... whatever... the point is we do not have to spend so much money on things like this just so people do not have to feel bad about it... hence the man up

I'm sorry you do not have the balls to do what is needed

I bet in midevil times you would have been one of the scare cowering farmers in the village rather then fight and die to defend it

I'll tell you a secert>>> EVERYONE DIES!!!
It is the final step of life, one in which we must all take...

Somewhere along the line men stopped being men and took on the values and emotions of women

Life is full of hard truths. Life is not fair nor easy. Life is full of dirty work that someone must do.

Would you have women go to war or deep in the mines? Any true man would say no. If they want too then thats a different story, a choice which they make, no problem there. But if no one wants to do it, then men to it... and not those metrosexual little boy kinda male... im talking about MEN

Just because we have choice in this society, does not mean we (men and women) should not know our roles...

You make no sense.

1.) If the murder is done, it's done. You can't change that - whether you kill the killer or not.
2.) There's no way in hell that slicing the throat is quick, painless or efficient.

If the murder is done, then why do humans put down animals that have killed? Think about it...

Answer: So that animal will not do it again.... Same thing with humans

The point is, death of a killer is a definative way to make sure that that human does not kill again, with no more economic cost, since of society is based upon bottom lines

I know, I know....
Im going to receive all kinds of flake about the women comments...
LOL
As a man I have my views and opinions
They most likely offend some people
For this I am not sorry
Deal with it

This is my first thread on CC, and I thought it would be an interesting topic.

Should Canada have the death penalty? We haven't had it carried out since 1962 and it has been abolished since 1976.

My thoughts are that we should have it as a deterrent. In my mind, sexual assault of minors (under 16) and murder would be capital crimes.

What are you thoughts?

Hasn't there been enough proof throughout history that the death penalty isn't an effective deterrent? Many criminals would choose the death penalty over life imprisonment.

Im not so sure that it would be for them. the people that are in favor of the death penalty don't like the SOBs, we could care less what they think.

Put me down as "no" on this one. Our justice system is too flawed currently to trust that taking a prisoner's life is the acceptable punishment. Rotting a small cell is a reasonable enough punishment.

I don't believe in liberal use of the death penalty, otherwise they will use it only to kill duckhunters and farmers that refuse to register their firearms. All the scumbags are fee to go home.

Not exactly "slave labour" as these boys have a huge "debt" to repay.

I did use the word "equivalent." But a rose by any other name...

This is getting progressively off topic, but I expect you know that low wage economies only benefit tourists and the very wealthy. Those who have very little buying power cannot be counted on to stimulate the economy. BTW do your last two sentences make any sense at all?
