well you cant claim benefits while not residing in Canada. They aren't in Mexico, or they have found a brilliant way to send EI reports.

Can't they? You'd better tell that to the 2580 collecting that they can't. They paid into the program so why can't they claim benefits? Harper gave them FULL CANADIAN RIGHTS while in Canada. So why not eh?

Anyone can apply for Canadian jobs from anywhere in the world. Even Mexico.

The fact of the matter is if Mexican workers pay into the system they are entitled to
benefits and if they pay into the CPP they will eventually be able to claim their share
of that too. It is not the fault of Mexicans or those who hired them it is the fault of the
government for not making sure what the rules would be. Also it is part of the
process to eventually allow some of those people to apply for immigrant status in the
future.
As for the NDP being communist it is nonsense, and the wall was not built to keep the
west from entering paradise in the east. Unions are as much a part of our society as
any other group. The idea they were once required but no more is equally as silly as
claiming others are communists or fascists or any other labels we want to affix to our
opponents.
I too know a number of people that lived under communism in fact some have married
into our family, but most of them even realize there is a huge difference between the
sinister communist movement and the society we have here. Drama in any form
left or right is not on my radar I prefer to deal with the reality we are living in. Jack
Layton is no more a communist than fly to the moon. A climate of fear is the very thing
that ticks people off. In fact i have heard from three people today who do not subscribe
to the NDP in usual circumstances but they are undecided. One is voting for Jack
as he is talking about issues and Harper's war room is talking about help coming in 2014.
the other two are moving from undecided to Jack because the Liberals who they support
are not only falling apart they are attacking Jack with the most amateur ads one could
imagine while their leader is saying Jack is amateur hour, and he is a pro give me a break.
The undecided vote last time I looked is still around 13% and that shows many have
waited to see who has traction and traction is going to Jack. Young people are starting
to slide in his direction as well.

If 258,000 paid in but only 2580 collect, it would seem the govt is raking it in from the benefits paid out by the employee and the employer.

Employers match CPP and also pay into the EI fund as well.

Where is the cash going?

just what do you think they are doing? logging into service canada from a mexico IP address? I am sure that the gov canada websites are a bit more secure than that.

you ever surf a website, and notice that the ads on the side of the website happen to be from the same town as you? you ever consider how that works? its because your IP address is available to the server that hosts the website.

IF you think anyone can log into a service canada account from a foriegn IP address and file an EI report, you are sadly mistaken. I strongly recommend that you don't try to scam EI, you are a bit naive about technology, it'll get you busted faster than a good old fashioned way of cheating like having a spouse sign the cards for you.

Yeah.... I notice a lot of them from Halifax - a place I'm nowhere near....

Yeah, when they are from mexico city, and you are sitting in Cancun, don't press your luck buddy.
:)

Whoami - My IP Address, Browser info, DNS Lookup

try this website, it'll tell you your IP address, then try clicking on the 'whois' link, it will tell you who owns the IP address,,,,,I'll give you a hint, when you are in mexico, it won't be showing Telus or Shaw

that old communism thing is so stale, and done out of fear of losing, I wonder if there is
anyone left who actually believes that tripe.

Why don't CDNBear and EAO just get it over with and makeout already.
Although I'm sure the image seems titillating to you and you'd love to watch. But chubby, furry, Italian men with a penchant for propaganda, Jew hating and neo Nazi terrorist regimes, is one of my turn offs.

I think its interesting that most religious people kinda assume that a benevolent god would probably rule in a communist type structure. When I think about it, if there is a god, he gave us freedom of thought, I think he would be more likely to be a Conservative.

I think a lot of people confuse communal-ism for a preconceived notion of communism.

Have you ever heard the expression "If you are young and not a liberal, you have no heart......If you are old and not a conservative, you have no wisdom"?

A benevolant god would be very wise. ;-)

...I try not to be insulting or demeaning. You seem to enjoy being insulting and demeaning. I admit I have crossed the line occasionally and when I get called out on it, I apologize and retract my post. You'll reply with another insult...

Thank you for proving my point about you.

I think its interesting that most religious people kinda assume that a benevolent god would probably rule in a communist type structure. When I think about it, if there is a god, he gave us freedom of thought, I think he would be more likely to be a Conservative.

Yes Jesus was a conservative capitalist type too. He made a fortune performing miracles. He profited from turning water into wine, charging people for healing services and feeding the multitudes with a few fish and loaves of bread. Only the wealthy could afford to attend his sermons. He died an old rich man.

Jesus believed in exploiting poor people and accumulating wealth:
...a man ran up and(W) knelt before him and asked him, "Good Teacher, what must I do to(X) inherit eternal life?" 18And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. 19You know the commandments:(Y) 'Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.'" 20And he said to him, "Teacher,(Z) all these I have kept from my youth." 21And Jesus,(AA) looking at him,(AB) loved him, and said to him, "You lack one thing: go,(AC) sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have(AD) treasure in heaven; and come, follow me." 22(AE) Disheartened by the saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

23And Jesus(AF) looked around and said to his disciples, (AG) "How difficult it will be for those who have wealth to enter(AH) the kingdom of God!" 24And the disciples(AI) were amazed at his words. But Jesus said to them again, (AJ) "Children,(AK) how difficult it is to enter(AL) the kingdom of God! 25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter(AM) the kingdom of God."
Sounds just like something Harper or Bush might say.

Jesus, like most Conservatives supported the death penalty:
The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

11 “No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
Most people mistakenly believe he lived a simple communal lifestyle as a poor but wise man who dedicated his life to the service of others.

What? You're Italian, you have a penchant for propaganda, Jew hating, and supporting neo Nazi regimes. All well established. I'll admit the furry part was a stab in the dark. And those are all turn offs for me.

I just heard on the radio that the only thing to matter is "strong" leadership as if you mutton-heads need to have clubs held over your head in order to behave.

Talking about others behavior, while misbehaving. Omicron is funny.
