Find me one against the US...that veto power works great for both of them don't it?

See above response.

Sovereign eh. So is Lybia, Afghanistan, Iraq and every other f*cking country on this planet but that don't stop the UN when it is the US pulling the puppet strings!

There are questions about his treatment and the term 'torture' is among them. I have to agree, nothing to hide then it shouldn't be a problem.

This obviously doesn't apply to all the other sovereign countries of the world in your little brainwashed mind, or does it?

Oh yeah, go ahead and ask him about how bad we treat him while we watch and listen witha few goons in the room. Do you really have any idea of coersion and intimidation techniques?

The entire point is that the UN does NOT have any right in any sense to challenge the practiscs in American jails while they ignore China, who murders thousands in its prisons every year.....after harvesting their internal organs for sale.

And the UN wants to investigate the fact that Manning is forced to sleep without his undies.

While they ignore China.

And you think the USA runs the UN!!!!!

Logic Man, linear thought! Your hypotheses are mutually exclusive.

Sure they do, they pick and choose as they please all the time.
The point is actually that the US claims to be this great bastion of freedom but seems to have a different set of rules when it comes to their own actions.

That and some other claims that have been made.

Hmmm, who is the president of the UN? Who has used or threatened to use the veto in the UN more than all others combined? Who ignores the UN when it suits them and then cries foul when others ignore the UN?

And maybe you can answer the questions I posed about sovereignty, or would that put you in a tough spot?

I couldn't care less. Except that the UN complaining of a lack of co-operation is ridiculous when they do not DARE confront the worst nations on earth.....and the demand for entrance is a violation of sovereignty of the nation.

You're being ridiculous. Twisting and spinning, from request, to demand.

The Quran burning Pastor, is still free.

I'll support them, as soon as they come back from Gaza, China, and so on.

Hmmm, who is the president of the UN?
Mr. Alfredo Moreno

Who has used or threatened to use the veto in the UN more than all others combined?
Russia?

Who ignores the UN when it suits them and then cries foul when others ignore the UN?
People on CC forum?

That's not much of a self-seving pro-US statement is it?

Mr. Alfredo Moreno
My mistake there, Obama is chair of the security council, not pres. of the general assembly (Joseph Deiss/Switzerland)

US, well over 200 times, mostly in support of Israel (go figure)

People on CC forum?
Yeah, but not quite as much as the US.

Since when does the bloody useless UN get to demand entrance to an American prison to pass judgement on the treatment of a vicious little weasel?????

Tell them to go insist on inspecting jails in China, or Zimbabwe, or the Sudan, or Syria, or Iran, or anyone of the 90% of nations that are MUCH worse than the USA.......

But no......

There has NOT even been a serious accusation of torture!!!!!!!!!!

First, isolation. As I've said a dozen times, let the scrawny, gay, whiny, treasonous little bastard out into the normal population of US Marines that can't follow the rules. Now THAT would not be torture, he wouldn't live long enough. Have you people never heard of protective custody????

Making him sleep naked. Hell, I sleep naked. My wife might consider it torture, but I don't. Perhaps he should quit threatening to hang himself with his shorts.

Just p[lain stupidity.
Jesus Colpy - After that naked comment my head is filled with Horror - I am reporting you to the UN Rights Commission for Horrible Images presented in public. My Gawd, Another beer bar mistress, hopefully this will soothe the pain. Yes I will send you the tab.

Just to clarify, Coply, the UN has in fact criticized other countries like China. Why should the US be granted special treatment? If it has nothing to hide, then show itself better than China and let the guy in? Why should the US follow China's lead in being so secretive?
And how secretive is the US compared to China. Would you like to compare their Humans Rights? He is being held in prison. He has access to a lawyer, paid for by the Govt. It will all come out at his Courts Martial.

My son is a military aviator and flies in the Air Transport Service. He told me Manning is being moved from Quantico to Leavenworth which will have much more suitable accomodations for a pre-trial UCMJ case. The move will take place next week.

Great news!! Does that mean he`ll be taken from the pot and put in the frying pan?

You`re government and the population in general, should be ashamed of it`s self.

Private Manning is still a member of the United States Army. Therefore, he falls under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and NOT under the civilian legal system.

He has neither been abused, nor has he been held illegally. He as been held, in strict pre-trial confinement, due to a very high probability that he would desert the military if NOT confined.

The United Nations has absolutely no authority, under either U.S. or International law, to see any prisoner held anywhere in the United States. In no way does membership in the United Nations provide that its rules override the laws of any member country.

Personally, I hope that his fellow prisoners off him. He is not at Leavenworth Disciplinary Barracks, and the other prisoners will NOT take kindly to a traitor.

He's off to Leavenworth!?!?! Holy smoke! He's going to wish he was back in Quantico. Quantico is like Day School to Leavenworth. This is great news.

As to some UN yahoo that wants to just file a report on how evil we are... screw him. Manning is a weakling and a Mama's boy and has committed a crime that has put him in a situation that there is very little hope. He knows that. That would make anyone catatonic, particularly the weak. So the allegations are that he was yelled at by Marines and he slept nude as he was on a suicide watch. That is torture these days? Oh the humanity.

Yeah! Kind of like Charlie Manson. Or Benedict Arnold. Or Ethel and Julius Rosenberg.

The stuff he's leaked has been pretty good YJ. Especially the Guantanamo leak that was just revealed. That place was a borderline concentration camp and we - ze people - let it happen.

lol.

That just ain't happening. You know it... I know it. This boy is done.

Which brings us to the topic discussed on another thread: Lock him up for life and let him think about what he's done in solitary. Out of compassion he should be given an unbreakable mirror, so he can see himself and cry.

How were the Allied Prisoners of War treated by the Japanese? Or the Germans?

Do Al Quaeda detainees deserve better? They were captured in civilian clothes. They never signed the Geneva Convention. In normal times, i.e, with no political correctness, they would have been shot on sight.

LMAO. Borderline concentration camp! It's like Club Med for crying out loud. Soccer, sports, recreation, entertainment, places to pray, all the correct food, sun, warm tropical breezes. That is why I am so for closing down GITMO and splitting them up and move them to places like Marion IL., Attica, NY., Leavenworth KS., Pelican Bay, CA. I assure you, they will wish they were back in GITMO.

Alas, Obama refuses to honor his campiagn promise.

You haven't read the news have you... oh boy....

What about the prisoners in the Al Queda Camps? Oh wait... their aren't any. As anyone they catch gets their heads sawed off on camera as they are kicked and beaten to the words Alah Akbar. Then shown on Al Jezzera.

Nice huh Mental?
