So then you'd vote for the party who says they will raise taxes.
The conservatives have a leader that has not been able to convince the voters that he is a good choice to head a majority gov't.
Stupid, Stupid - absolutely no reason for an election at this point in time! Hope someone pays dearly for this.

Or perhaps focus on honesty and ethics...wait, that train has left the station. Too late for Harper to claim any moral sense. You're right, he'll have to focus on the economy and how well he's kept the deficit down.

Actually, I think the issue needs to be dropped. The Count has said he won't and we should take him at his word...........
He should focus more more on why his government was found in contempt of parliment, an historic first in the commonwealth.
Just heard Layton yapping off on the radio- such a fricken hypocrite- he condemns Harper for the H.S.T. (I do too) but 5 minutes after Layton gets into power (in his wildest dreams) he'll choke us to death with some other form of tax, fee, assessment on the pretext of helping the down trodden.
I knew he was a liar the day I met him.Duceppe says Harper lying on coalition - CTV News
Harper is a liar. There is no debate on this. The only argument from Conservatives can be why it doesn't matter that their man is a liar. As somebody who will not reward a liar with my vote, I ask all those who will vote for Harper how they justify it.

Do you know of a politician who isn't a liar? Since that is a common denominator it is hardly a good reason for not voting for anyone UNLESS you decide to vote for none of them for the same reason. As long as I'm convinced I'll pay less taxes under Harper than I would under anyone else I'll seriously consider voting for him. I did the exercise with "votecompass" which indicates I should vote for Harper.
Likewise, I don't mind paying more taxes if I know it won't be wasted on military intervention.

The military is not an area of expertise of mine, but from what I can gather unless we expect Uncle
Sam to fight all our battles for us we do need to beef up the military. As far as paying more taxes for any reason I'm not for it - the money is better in my pockets as I don't squander it the way they do. In most cases when I spend money I try to see it goes to reputable people for good products- that way I support workers, not people who refuse to work. I certainly hope that the likes of those who hoisted this $300 thousand charade on us will NEVER get the opportunity to spend one nickel of my money.
YWhat about a tax increase to pay for all the chicken littles who want a beefed up military who see boogy men around every corner?
You knuckleheads have no problem calling for the military when you need them, you just don't want to flip the bill. You're like the guy who has no problem drinking pichers of beer, but you run for the can when it's your turn to buy a round.
