Memory is selective among all peoples imo. Maybe that's necessary to help people keep going. I don't know. The history of our species is written in blood.

Why does so much of the world, particularly the Muslim world, hate the United States?

It all boils down to resources. If the Middle East did not have any oil, do you think the US would be so involved there?

Puppet governments do the bidding of the oil companies, not the people living there. Thus the hatred.

Do you use the same philosophy if you see a mother or father beating a child with a stick? After all, to step in would be to "force your values" on the parent. What about intervening or calling for help when a rape is in progress?
