Most of the media were predictably jubilant and giddy on Friday when it was announced that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was stepping down.
Acting as the voice of reason was syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer who on PBS's "Inside Washington" spoke some inconvenient truths about the Muslim Brotherhood and Egypt's similarities to pre-Islamic Revolution Iran that America's press have been dishonestly downplaying for weeks.

Why is it that everytime I head someone used the term "inconvenient truth" I think of Al Gore, Global Warming and thus, "baseless fearmongering lies?"
And on that Al Gore/Global Warming comment, I also see that in the original article, they use Global Warming as a bash-item to suit their argument, but don't mind using the well known term that goes with it, "inconvenient truth" to further their agenda...... how ironic.
Here, I'll tell you an actual
TRUTH:
The only reason why the Right and their propaganda machines are clinging to this whole Islamic Booga Booga story is because it's Isreal's Islamic Booga Booga story..... and we all know how far up Israel's ass the Right is..... after all, if the Right ever had their way, they'd turn the US and every other nation into Israel. And isolated, racist nation where everybody must be drafted and serve in the military, and all their neighbors are their enemies.
This goof ball (the writer) and his web site claim that main stream media is ignoring the possible risk of Egypt turning into an Islamic state, yet this same idiot, Israel and those who support them continue to ignore the fact that Egyptians have been ruled by a ruthless dictator for 30 years, who's been called the best friend of the US and Israel for so long now, all because he does a few favors for those nations...... forget the fact that the Right have continually ignored these people have had their human rights trampled on for 30+ years..... their dictator in power did things for them and now they might lose a shoe lacky.
Suppose this Muslim Brotherhood does get into power..... That's democracy for ya.
Let's take a deeper look into what was said in the above link shall we?
Our job is to strengthen the democrats, of which there are many in Egypt but who need help, organization and assistance so they can challenge the Brotherhood and create a democracy that is actually going to live and not be one man, one vote, one time.
AKA: Let's further meddle in the affairs of another soverign nation so that our personal interests are met and served, regardless of what the people of Egypt want.
That's sounds familiar...... and does that really sound "Democratic" to any of you?
If it does, then you not only have to read up on what Democracy is, but you should also look up your history as well.
They link all of this to what happened in Iran.
Tell me, what really happened in Iran?
That way I hear is, the US meddled in that nation's personal affairs and pissed a lot of people off, and thus, voted in a government they could trust would serve their nation and not another...... thus you get Iran as an Islamic State.
Now these dumbasses are suggesting to meddle in the affairs of Egypt.......
..... It doesn't take a friggin rocket sceintist to realize what that will do.
They would end up creating the sole thing they're fearmongering about.
These idiots don't think the Egyptian people are strong enough, let along smart enough to "Do the Right Thing" so someone else...... some other nation should jump in and do it for them.
Sounds like your typical Republican Mentality to me...... the same mentality George Bush used throughout his reign. Him and his goons didn't think the US public was smart enough to do the right thing, so he instead slapped down the Patriot Act, ignored the majority of the populations' own wishes..... they didn't even think their allies were smart enough to see the BS he and his goons were pulling off.
I'm not a huge fan of Jean Chretien, but everybody should applaud his decision and reasons for not going into Iraq, because like myself, he didn't see any credible evidence to head off to Iraq and send out troops to die in a pointless war...... and if Harper was PM at the time, he would have sent us there, where we'd probably still be today.
That's your Conservative/Republican mentality...... the population is too stupid to do the right thing (or the thing we want them to) so we should do it for them..... we should make the decisions for them.
Is there a risk that the Muslim Brotherhood might get into power in Egypt?
Perhaps..... but those are the risks involved with Democracy in the first place...... and if you can't handle those risks, you don't deserve to live in a Democracy, period.
It's amazing how fast the Left dismesses what Krauthammer has to say without giving it single thought..
Sorry, I gave it more thought then it's worth..... maybe you should give it some thought.
