Every time there is a catastrophe like this .. the left tries to take advantage of it politicaly as you can see when the sheriff first spoke on TV and it kept going in the left leaning media.
You would think they would learn....but no...(pardon the pun);-)....they keep shooting themselves in the foot.

Everyone pushes their political agendas. Look how many people take one stance or another from it... If you're pro-gun, something like this means more people should carry guns so they can shoot the perp. if you're anti-gun, it's proof that guns are bad. You haven't been innocent. ;)

That is funny. The most hate rhetoric I hear comes from the right wing loons. Besides, this kid looks too young to have the intellectual smarts to formulate a politic preference. That he took a gun and killed people just says he was mentally unbalanced, not right or left.
Really? I guess you must have been on vacation during Bush's 8 years where the rhetoric from the Left crossed the line..

The Left are the ultimate opportunists using any tragedy for political agendas such as Democrat Carolyn McCarthy who's now rushing through a gun control bill even before the first victim is buried.

Carolyn McCarthy readies gun control bill - Shira Toeplitz - POLITICO.com

It's typical Hypocrisy of the Left to bash the Right for the rhetoric when they're guilty of it during the last 8 years of Bush comparing him to Hitler, protesting against the Iraq War with banners like 'We support our Troops when they shoot their officers', how soon they forget. Oh let's look back to when Alec Baldwin called for the stoning of Henry Hyde.

“I’m thinking to myself if we were in other countries, we would all, right now, all of us together, . . . would go down to Washington and we would stone [Republican U.S. Representative] Henry Hyde to death! We would stone him to death! Wait! . . . Shut up! No, shut up! I’m not finished. We would stone Henry Hyde to death, and we would go to their homes and we’d kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families.”
Stoning Henry Hyde. - What Liberals Say

The Left even rushed to say the shooter was an Afghanistan War Vet..

Northern Ontario,
Well no matter which side you're on, no sense wasting a good tragedy right old buddy. ;-)
Hey...That all started with the targets..I mean crosshairs:lol:

On another note.....

This afternoon at coffee at Tim's the conversation of course went to the events in Arizona, but not in the political way you might think.
We simply recalled an old foreman at work , who after he retired seemed to be suffering from dementia or Alzheimer so bad that he couldn't seem to remember you if you met on the street.
So, at work one day, we hear that the night before he had shot himself in the head with a 22.
What we found strange was that he had been flown to Toronto....we all expected him to be dead.
Well, It turned out that he had shot himself dead centre and that the bullet had travelled between the two lobes of the brain, and to keep the story short he made a complete recovery.
Sometime later (can't remember how long);-) I met him on the street and he said Hi to me and he remembered my name..........

Hopefully Representative Gifford will make a full recovery!

Jared Lee Loughner

The sad thing is Jared Lee Loughner now has Rock Star status next to the likes of John Hinckley Jr (Ronald Reagan) and Mark David Chapman (John Lennon) because now everyone will want a piece of him, let the bidding begin.

Naw. He didn't kill anyone famous enough, and we've had too many shooting sprees like this one. He'll fade into obscurity.

Turns out the rumours were correct,

the media initially reported this thing as a tea party skinhead just because the guy was shaved-headed. Turns out, he was a left-wing pothead (even though the left will minimalize him into being a centralist or a nazi... yeah right)

Not with the family of that little girl he won't. It's time common folks got mourned the same way as folks like the Kennedys.

It's not just the thread that's retarded.

SO WHAT!!!???

Geez.

In a couple of months, I'll be taking a trip to the deep south west of the USA. (For another reason) I've already checked out the full auto ranges, where you can go shoot Uzis, M-16s, AKs, MP 5s, and the one I want, the Thompson chopper.

It is a little expensive.....be nice to know my money was going to a political cause I agreed with.

Get it straight, there is NOTHING wrong with shooting, in the USA it is a fundamental RIGHT, and so.....why shouldn't a political rally be held at a rifle range as readily as an arena, a church hall, a hotel conference room......or a grocery store??????

You guys keep trying to demonize the use of guns in general, and the Republicans in particular.....all on a false premise, either:

a) The use of firearms is wrong.
The use of firearms is (once again) a constitutional right in the USA, and is so much a part of the culture in the west (it made us free) that gun lingo has saturated the English language.

b) Sara Palin et al set out to encourage violent attacks by there use of language and visual targeting (unlike the saintly Democrats)
Baloney. The "gun sights" are surveyor's marks (on the GOP map, on the Dem map they use targets!!!) The language is completely typical of competition in an American political war.

This aspect of this entire thread is just so much BS.......
How would the Reps feel if the Dems held a rally beside Lincolns tomb and distributed maps to target Reps? Where does it end? The "so what" is the irresponsibility of such politics.

I suspect now that she has had half her brain blown out she will join the Republican Party or some other Can'tservative group.

How does a nut like Jarred....snicker, what a gay name....get a gun in the first place?

This was the Palin Tweet referring to her Facebook target map posting. It is what it is, an incitement of violence.

I think the people will always be mourned, perhaps more respectfully so in that I really don't think people will give him fame for it. I don't think murderers deserve our attention once the crime is sentenced. Just go outside of Quebec and ask people to name the Polytechnique shooter for example. Or ask typical Joe Blow on the street to name who shot up the Taber school, or the Dawson College.

What the left doesn't seem to see is that metaphores and pictures have been used by both sides in political campaigns and they are now trying to stiffle free speach in an attempt to shut down the other side when they seem to be winning the argument
Crosshairs, targets of all kinds have been used in the past....time to stop drinking the koolaid.

There is probably a dozen meanings and contexts for "reload", but of course the morons are going to gravitate to one. I know people who are "straight shooters" but they don't go out killing people.
