The liberal beauty queen, Helen Thomas implied with her hateful statement that she holds the United Nations in contempt - strange, because for liberals, usually, it is the bastion of justice that stands up to American imperialism - because it was the United Nations that created the state of Israel.

With her vile anti-Semitic comment she implicitely wished for the destruction of Israel.

Juan Williams simply expressed what a large portion of people feel.

Juan Williams is not the first victim of political correctness, neither is he likely to be the last.

According to liberals, when an individual expresses even the slightest form of racism, it is horrible.

But when a tax-payer funded free-loading organization like NPR (or its equally free-loading and shameless beggar cousin, PBS) displays blatant racism, especially towards a person of colour who had the audacity of being honest and get off the Democrat/liberal plantation, it is not only OK, but the bastard got what was coming to him.

Where, oh, where is the NAACP? Probably hiding under the same rock NOW is hiding and has been hiding ever since REAL and honest women came on the scene.

Here is hoping that the new Congress will defund these cesspools - NPR and PBS - of liberal propaganda.

Juan Williams has appeared on FOX for many years as part of guest panels discussing items of public interest

I am more aware of the recent $1.8mil George Soros put into the "Public Radio Pot" as having more influence than what Juan chose to state regarding a "Muslim on an aircraft" - when far more tantalizing things have
been offered about Muslims in all the media regardless of private or public ownership.

No, sorry but I believe the incentive was the Soros' donation and the imperative to "clean house" of those who don't follow the necessary rules of getting the message out to the public.

No more freedom of thought for the USA (or so Soros believes). He doesn't seem to understand it doesn't work that way and Juan will survive - perhaps more empowered by his publicity and refreshing new status of speaking
his beliefs out loud.

I didn't know about Dick Morris - lost track of him when the Clinton reign was over other than to see his appearances on various programs.

Juan was so pale yesterday I thought the studio cameras were playing tricks in lightening up his skin tone until I caught what was going on in his life - what a terrible way to be fired - but no doubt it will work in Juan's favor if he is allowed room to breath and speak his honest opinions - which is what all broadcasting companies should espouse.

Public ownership has gone the way of the dodobird - it becomes entrenched in a one-size-fits-all fellowship to secure donations from special groups and in order to stay funded, the station itself becomes a spokesman for those who donate.

Media has played the ***** before - I hope the public are getting the message now so they can be aware of what they hear and see and weigh the sources. (Ooops my bad word was "lady of the night" - y'all know - it's early and my brain is still napping!)

Defending idealogy for all your worth and getting a kick in the head for it may change your own convictions. Defending and doing your best for a totally corrupt and ungrateful couple, the Clintons, got Dick Morris a swift kick in the head.

Juan Williams has always been a faithful water carrier for the Obama's and their sycophants, with one difference: he was, is and always will be, unlike other liberals, HONEST.

This latest back-stabbing of a black person who dared to escape from the liberal plantation is proof that it does not pay to be the water carrier for the phonies who prefer Perrier.

Let's not forget that williams was fired from a public funded organization. and Thomas was asked to retire by a private organization....and NPR is on it's way out....shame on the liberals

Really, should anyone be surprised by National Public Radio’s firing of analyst Juan Williams? Liberals and leftists are far and away the most intolerant people in public debate. As my friend and fellow National Post columnist, David Frum, likes to say, liberals are all in favour of free speech and a diversity of opinion until they encounter views that differ from their own. Then they are shocked to find people who actually disagree with them and their first reaction is to try to silence their critics

How do you know NPR would act any differently if they were privately funded?

What if their new target market or shareholders agreed with this move? I highly doubt it would it would change their policy.

Get NPR off the public welfare handout. If the US won't finance the other points of view media systems this one should be excluded too!

No it wouldn't, but conservative talk radio seems to make very it without goverment funding. Why does the left need so much goverment support to survive. Could be that the majority of people don't really want to hear their beliefs. Corporate sponsors will only support what organizations that make money.

Right. And by limiting your service based on a target demographic is propaganda. Media corporations don't care at all about the message as long as they make a profit. They don't actually have a responsibility to the public that is not synonymous with their own economic benefit.
